The examples below include a full-character illustration, a compact icon, and a silhouette; compare each asset’s format, dimensions, and license on its own page before downloading or reusing it.
Transparent Santa images you can download
These listings offer different styles and file formats. Their stated dimensions are asset specifications, not guarantees that an image will suit every screen or print workflow.
| Source and style | Formats and listed dimensions | License stated on the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Pixabay: colorful, full-character illustration | PNG and SVG; 1280 × 1920 pixels. The listing describes a transparent background and identifies the image as AI-generated; its displayed publication date is December 11, 2025. | Pixabay Content License. Check the current asset terms before reuse. |
| SVG Repo: compact Santa icon | Optimized SVG, plus PNG exports at 256 × 256, 512 × 512, and 1024 × 1024 pixels. | The listing labels the asset CC0. Check its current license information for your intended use. |
| Silhouette Garden: silhouette and printable bundle | Transparent PNG and JPG at 300 DPI, EPS, SVG, and a PDF formatted for 8.5 × 11-inch paper. | Free royalty-free use is limited to personal and educational purposes with attribution. The page says a paid bundle is required for commercial use or use without attribution. |
| Rawpixel: vintage-style graphic | PNG and SVG; listed PNG options are 800 × 800 and 3000 × 3000 pixels. | The page describes the graphic as public-domain CC0 and links separate personal and business license information. Consult those current terms rather than relying on the short listing label alone. |
Choose PNG or SVG for your project
PNG for straightforward placement
PNG is a raster image with fixed pixel dimensions, so its useful size depends on the asset and how large you display or print it. Before using a file, open the downloaded image in your target editor and confirm that the background is actually transparent. A preview that looks transparent is not proof that the downloaded file has an alpha channel.
SVG when scalability matters
SVG is vector artwork and can scale without being tied to a fixed pixel grid in the way a PNG is. The SVG Repo listing also offers PNG exports in three sizes, which can be convenient if you want a raster copy. The appearance of an SVG can vary by application, so check it in the software you plan to use.

Check the license for the exact Santa image
“Free” does not mean every kind of use is allowed. The examples above have different stated terms: Pixabay cites its Content License, SVG Repo labels its icon CC0, and Silhouette Garden restricts its free route to attributed personal and educational use. Rawpixel links separate personal and business license information. Read the current asset page and applicable terms before commercial use, redistribution, or incorporating an image into a product; one asset’s license does not establish the terms for another image on the same site.

Search phrases such as “transparent Santa Claus PNG,” “Santa PNG transparent background,” “Santa Claus SVG,” and “Santa Claus Silhouette” can help narrow results by format or look. Then compare the pose and style, file type and pixel dimensions, permitted use, and attribution requirements. The listings here are examples rather than a ranking: the available evidence does not establish one provider as universally best.
