If your Streamlabs Mobile YouTube stream ends as soon as your phone locks, keep the phone unlocked for the entire broadcast. Streamlabs’ official mobile gameplay guide says, “If your device locks, the stream will end.” The available guidance does not establish a Streamlabs setting that keeps screen sharing running after the device locks.
Keep the phone awake while streaming
Before starting a Streamlabs Mobile screen broadcast, adjust your phone’s display settings so the screen stays awake, then keep the device unlocked until you end the stream. The exact menu path and available options vary by phone and operating-system version; the sources do not establish a universal setting path.
Streamlabs’ “How to Stream Mobile Games” guide, updated September 30, 2026, explicitly warns: “Stay unlocked while live: If your device locks, the stream will end.” Treat screen lock as the immediate cause when the broadcast stops at that moment.
Why screen capture may stop when the app is backgrounded
Streamlabs says that screen capture puts its app in the background and leaves it effectively suspended. Its support FAQ also says that on iOS it disables widgets during screen broadcasting to reduce the risk of the operating system killing the app. This offers context for why backgrounding matters, but it is not a device-by-device explanation and should not be generalized to every phone, operating-system version, or camera stream.

If the stream still stops while the phone is awake
If the display remains awake but the broadcast still ends, consider other interruptions separately from the screen-lock issue. Streamlabs suggests closing other apps to reduce lag or crashes and enabling Do Not Disturb to avoid interruptions. These are general stream-hygiene suggestions, not guaranteed fixes for a stream that ends when the screen locks.
Network Boost is not a screen-lock remedy. Streamlabs describes it as using multiple internet connections to support connection reliability; it does not claim to keep screen capture alive after a phone locks.

Check YouTube eligibility only if you cannot start
YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements concern starting a mobile broadcast, not a stream ending at the instant the display locks. YouTube Help says a channel needs verification, live streaming enabled, no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, at least 50 subscribers, and a compatible device. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours. If you can start streaming and the broadcast ends only when the phone locks, eligibility is a separate issue.
When to consider a different streaming workflow
YouTube documents mobile, webcam, encoder, and console streaming as separate ways to go live. A different workflow may be worth investigating if you must lock the phone, but the available guidance does not validate a particular encoder setup as a fix for this Streamlabs Mobile screen-capture behavior. Keep the distinction clear: a mobile screen broadcast depends on the phone’s capture and app lifecycle, while another workflow may capture or broadcast through different equipment.
