Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. It was not a midnight-Pacific release, and the first batch contained four episodes rather than six. The complete fifth and final season is now streaming on Netflix, with the remaining episodes released in December 2025.
When did Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 come out?
Netflix released Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 on November 26, 2025, at a title-specific time of 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. That launch time applied simultaneously across the service, so viewers outside the United States saw a different local time and, in many regions, a different calendar date.
| U.S. time zone | Release time |
|---|---|
| Hawaii | 3:00 p.m. HST |
| Alaska | 4:00 p.m. AKST |
| Pacific | 5:00 p.m. PST |
| Mountain | 6:00 p.m. MST |
| Central | 7:00 p.m. CST |
| Eastern | 8:00 p.m. EST |
For much of Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, the same release occurred after midnight, meaning the local date was Thursday, November 27, 2025.
How many episodes are in Volume 1?
Volume 1 contains four episodes: Episodes 1 through 4. Netflix divided the eight-episode final season into three releases:

Why the release time caused confusion
Netflix often makes its original series available at midnight Pacific Time. That standard schedule did not apply to Stranger Things 5. Netflix announced a special simultaneous launch at 5:00 p.m. Pacific, which was 8:00 p.m. Eastern in the United States.
That distinction matters when checking whether the episodes are available. A viewer expecting a midnight-Pacific launch would have been looking six hours too early. The service may also display the episodes differently depending on the device, app version, or region. If the season does not appear immediately, close and reopen the Netflix app, refresh the browser, or search for the series directly rather than relying only on the home screen.

Is Stranger Things 5 still waiting for release?
No. Volume 1, Volume 2, and the finale have all been released. The full eighth-episode final season is streaming on Netflix as of August 9, 2026.
Two older claims are therefore misleading:
- Volume 1 does not contain six episodes. Netflix assigned Episodes 1–4 to the first batch.
- The season did not use Netflix’s usual midnight-Pacific release time. The announced launch was 5:00 p.m. Pacific.
Episode 2 has also changed from an earlier promotional wording. Netflix’s current listing gives its full title as “Chapter Two: The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler.”
