Why Jeff asked to end the marriage status first
In October 2024, Jeff sought bifurcation. In a bifurcated California divorce, the court can terminate the parties’ marital status before resolving every financial, property, support, or parenting issue. Us Weekly quoted Jeff’s request: “I would like to move forward with my life and request that this court terminate my marital status.”
Chelsea’s November response, as reported by Us Weekly, agreed to bifurcation subject to conditions. Her filing said: “Chelsea is neither stalling this case nor causing delay. In fact, she is eager to terminate this marriage as soon as possible.”

Are Chelsea and Jeff legally divorced?
Yes, the cited reporting says a California judge declared them legally single on December 10, 2024. That ruling addresses marital status. It does not, by itself, show that the case’s complete financial settlement, spousal-support terms, property division, or final custody and parenting orders had been reported or completed.
