RoboCop: Rogue City is a single-player Windows shooter that mixes deliberate, heavy combat with investigation, optional police work and consequential choices. The original game needs 16 GB of RAM and 51 GB of storage; its published recommended GPU is an RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800. This guide covers the 2023 original—not the separate 2025 game RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business.
Can your Windows PC run RoboCop: Rogue City?
The following are the currently published Windows requirements for the original game. They are a hardware checklist, not a promise of a particular resolution, graphics preset or frame rate. Steam’s listing and Nacon’s PC listing provide the specifications.

The listings specify Windows 10, 64-bit; they do not provide a separate Windows 11 certification. Windows 11 may work in practice, but that is not the same as an explicit requirement stated by the publisher or store. Keep more than 51 GB free if possible: updates, temporary files and shader caches need room beyond the nominal figure.

The minimum graphics cards are an entry point, not a guarantee of high settings or smooth performance. The official requirements do not state a target resolution, frame rate or quality preset. In particular, do not read “recommended” as a promise of 60 fps.

Where to get the Windows version
- Steam: The game is listed for Windows and supports single-player, Steam Cloud, achievements, trading cards and Family Sharing. Steam is a convenient choice if you use its community guides and library features. View the Steam listing.
- Epic Games Store: Epic also lists a Windows edition. It can make sense if you keep your games there or find a better current offer; the available material does not establish feature parity with Steam. View the Epic listing.
- Nacon: The publisher lists PC digital editions, including the Standard and Alex Murphy editions. Check the checkout details to confirm the activation method and exactly which extras are included. View Nacon’s editions.
Prices, discounts, taxes and regional availability change, so compare the live listings rather than relying on an old sale price. Edition bonuses may include items such as weapon or character skins and a digital artbook; cosmetics do not change the campaign or establish a performance benefit.
Before installing
- Confirm Windows is 64-bit and compare your CPU, GPU and memory with the table above.
- Make sure the destination drive has comfortably more than 51 GB free.
- Install available Windows updates and a current stable driver from your graphics-card manufacturer.
- Close unnecessary background programs. On a laptop, connect AC power and make sure the game uses the dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics.
- Choose the correct product: the original game, its edition or bundle, and Unfinished Business are distinct listings.
- For a clean first test, avoid unofficial DLL replacements, executable modifications and performance packs.
How to install it on Windows
Steam
- Install Steam and sign in to the account that will own the game.
- Open the game’s store page, then purchase it or redeem a key to that account.
- Open Library, select RoboCop: Rogue City and choose the install option.
- Select a library drive with enough space and let the download and installation finish. Allow Steam to apply any available update.
- Launch the game from the library.
Epic Games Store
- Install Epic Games Launcher and sign in to the account that owns the game.
- Open the Epic product page and purchase or claim the Windows edition.
- Open Library, select the game, choose install and pick a destination directory.
- Wait for the download and any update to complete, then launch it from the library.
Launcher labels may change. Both routes require the store account and launcher for acquisition and installation; do not assume permanent offline play or cross-store save compatibility from that fact alone.
First launch
Let any first-run setup or shader compilation finish before judging performance. Start with the game’s detected settings, check resolution and refresh rate, and test audio, keyboard, mouse and controller input before starting a long session. If diagnosing a launch problem, disable overlays and third-party injectors for the initial test. Make a manual save when the game allows it.

What kind of game is it?
The original game, developed by Teyon and published by Nacon, launched on PC on November 2, 2023. It is a single-player first-person action-adventure, not an unrestricted open-world sandbox. Its story missions contain areas to explore, investigate and revisit while you handle the main objective. The official game site describes evidence gathering, interrogations, public-order activities and choices that can affect citizens and mission results.
Combat with weight
The Auto-9 is central to the experience, and the official description says more than 20 weapons are available overall. RoboCop’s strength also matters: use the environment aggressively, including objects you can manipulate or throw, and use his abilities as part of combat. The feel is deliberately heavier and less agile than a conventional shooter. Pickups and positioning matter; do not assume every weapon is permanently carried or equally useful.
Police work between firefights
Look beyond the next objective marker. You can investigate clues, question suspects, collect evidence and take on public-order or other optional tasks. Dialogue and investigation decisions help shape how people and missions fare. The game does not mean that every choice changes the ending, but it does make police work part of the role-playing rather than mere scenery.

Skills, story and choices
Cybernetic abilities can be upgraded as you progress. The best priorities depend on how you play: broad combat effectiveness and survivability are useful starting considerations, while investigation or utility improvements may suit a more methodical run. Check the upgrade screen in your current build instead of relying on stale lists of exact names or point costs.

The story is set in the RoboCop universe between RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, according to the official site, and Peter Weller returns as RoboCop’s voice. If you want to preserve surprises, treat dialogue and investigation choices as potentially consequential and avoid outcome-specific guides until after your first playthrough.
Practical tips for a first playthrough
Combat
- Use RoboCop’s durability, but do not remain exposed indefinitely. Move between cover and watch for enemies that can deal heavy damage quickly.
- Use pickups when another weapon fits the situation; do not rely on one approach for every encounter.
- Look for objects that can help control a fight. RoboCop’s strength is part of the combat toolkit.
- If surrounded, break line of sight and reposition. A powerful character can still be overwhelmed.
- After a fight, check the area for ammunition, clues and interactable objects before moving on.
- At higher difficulty, prioritize positioning and dangerous targets over rushing into a group.
Exploration and decisions
- Search side rooms and police environments before leaving an area; evidence and optional activities can be easy to miss if you follow only the marker.
- Handle available public-order tasks and investigation opportunities when practical.
- Use scanning or detective abilities when available, but do not assume every clue is mandatory to progress.
- Save before a major decision if manual saving is available. This is a precaution, not a guarantee that every outcome can be rewound or changed.
Upgrades
Early on, consider improvements that help across many encounters, such as resilience or general combat effectiveness. Later, balance weapon-focused upgrades with investigation or utility options if those suit your playstyle. A role-playing run may favor abilities that support a more methodical police approach; a combat-focused run may favor damage, handling or efficiency. Verify names and effects in the installed game rather than following an unverified “best build” list.

Graphics and performance settings
There is no official performance target attached to the published hardware table, so adjust by observation rather than expecting a fixed result:
- Below the recommended GPU tier: Start at 1080p with a lower quality preset and adjust from there. Reduce demanding effects before deciding that a higher resolution is viable.
- Near minimum: Favor a stable experience over visual detail. Watch graphics-memory use, especially on cards with 4 GB of VRAM.
- At or above recommended: Begin with the game’s suggested or detected settings, then adjust resolution and demanding effects according to frame-time behavior.
- Short on VRAM: Lower texture quality first and check whether the problem improves.
- Possible CPU limit: If the current build exposes crowd, simulation or view-distance options, test lowering them.
- Stutter on first run: Allow compilation and first-run activity to finish. Judge performance over a longer session, not just the opening seconds.
- Laptop: Use AC power, a suitable performance profile and the dedicated GPU.
These are diagnostic starting points, not tested preset recommendations. The cited official listings do not verify particular upscalers, ray-tracing modes or frame-generation options, so check the current graphics menu before relying on any of them.
Troubleshooting
The game is missing from the library
- Check that you are signed into the account used to buy or redeem it, and review that account’s transaction history.
- Restart the launcher and search the library by the full title.
- Check whether the game is hidden or filtered from the library view.
- Confirm you own the original RoboCop: Rogue City, not only Unfinished Business.
Installation fails or stops
- Check free space—more than the listed 51 GB is prudent.
- Restart the launcher, then pause and resume the download.
- Check the launcher’s network settings and selected download region.
- Confirm the drive is healthy and writable; try another library or drive if disk errors continue.
- Only consider temporarily changing network filtering or security software if you understand the risk. Restore protection afterward.
Use the launcher’s file-verification option before deleting game files by hand.

Black screen or startup crash
- Wait briefly in case first-run setup or compilation is still in progress.
- If the game responds, try a standard Windows display-mode shortcut; do not repeatedly send input to an unresponsive process.
- Disable overlays, capture tools, injectors and aggressive monitoring utilities, then retry.
- Update Windows and the graphics driver; on a laptop, confirm the dedicated GPU is selected.
- Verify the installed files through the storefront launcher.
- Undo overclocks or undervolts and check whether security software quarantined a game file.
- If necessary, back up configuration data before resetting it. Treat a configuration reset as a last resort because it can erase custom settings.
Some players have reported Unreal Engine, DirectX 12 or device-removal crashes in community discussions, but such reports are anecdotal and may depend on a particular system or game version. They do not establish a universal fault. Avoid unofficial DLL or configuration-file fixes as a first response. If a clean installation still fails, contact Nacon’s RoboCop support.
Poor performance or stuttering
First confirm the PC meets at least the minimum specifications. Close background applications, check CPU and GPU load, temperatures, frame times and VRAM use, and test with overlays off. Lower resolution or demanding graphics options one at a time; use an upscaler only if the installed build actually offers one. Installing to an SSD may help some loading or streaming situations, but it is not a guaranteed fix for all stutter. Avoid copying community Engine.ini tweaks as universal remedies: patches and storefront builds can differ, and edits can create instability.
Controller or input trouble
- Check first that Windows detects the controller, then test the game with keyboard and mouse separately.
- If playing through Steam, check its controller configuration; do not assume the same settings apply through another launcher.
- Disconnect duplicate input devices and temporarily disable remapping software to isolate conflicts.
- Confirm the game’s input prompts match the device you are using. Button prompts and wireless behavior can differ by controller and storefront setup.
Cloud saves and backups
Steam lists Steam Cloud support for this game. Cloud sync is not a substitute for a backup: copy saves before reinstalling or editing configuration files, and avoid switching storefront versions mid-campaign. Do not assume cross-store or cross-platform save compatibility. A current verified save-folder location is not established here, so use the storefront or game’s supported save-management route rather than guessing at a path.

Original game or Unfinished Business?
RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business is a separate standalone adventure released July 17, 2025, not a DLC mission pack for the original. The two games have different requirements, so check the listing for the exact title you intend to install. Nacon’s Unfinished Business page lists its Windows specifications.

Those are requirements for Unfinished Business; do not transfer its DirectX 12 or other specifications to the original game. Nacon also offers a collection containing both standalone campaigns. It may suit a new buyer who wants both, but compare the current bundle and separate prices, especially if you already own one title. Check the collection listing.
Who is it for?
It is a natural fit for RoboCop-film fans, players who enjoy deliberate power-fantasy shooting, and players willing to slow down for clues, side activities and dialogue. It is less suited to someone looking for competitive multiplayer or a fully open-world sandbox. Steam flags mature content, including violence and strong language, so check the store’s content information if that matters to your household.
