El 19 de febrero de 2025, Villarreal acudió a la Fiscalía Especializada en Feminicidios y Delitos cometidos contra las Mujeres en Monterrey para declarar contra su entonces esposo, Cruz Martínez, por presunta violencia de género. El País informó el 20 de noviembre de 2025 que Martínez fue vinculado a proceso por presunta violencia familiar. “Vinculado a proceso” indica que el procedimiento continúa bajo una imputación; no significa que el acusado haya sido declarado culpable ni que exista una sentencia.
Audiencia y medidas cautelares en abril de 2026
El 14 de abril de 2026, Villarreal acudió a una audiencia relacionada con la revisión de medidas cautelares. Según Milenio, la audiencia se realizó de manera virtual por parte de Martínez y las medidas no fueron modificadas, de acuerdo con la cobertura y las declaraciones de la abogada de la parte acusadora. Ante medios, Villarreal expresó su desacuerdo con el juez: “Aquí estoy en una audiencia más. El juez no fue imparcial. Yo solo les recuerdo que hace más de un año estuvo en riesgo mi vida y he estado siguiendo el proceso; estoy firme en lo que empecé. Realmente confío en las leyes para que hagan lo pertinente”. También dijo: “Lo único que sigo pensando es que las leyes realmente son justas; las personas que están en esa posición son las que son injustas”. Son opiniones atribuidas a Villarreal, no una determinación independiente sobre la imparcialidad judicial.
Qué ha dicho Cruz Martínez
En declaraciones en Monterrey el 27 de enero de 2026, Martínez defendió su inocencia y describió el conflicto como una disputa por derechos musicales, según Telemundo. Qué se sabía en la última actualización disponible
El 13 de agosto de 2026, Telemundo publicó dos notas en video basadas en declaraciones del abogado de Villarreal después de una audiencia virtual. El abogado dijo que Alicia se había negado a negociar y explicó por qué consideraba posible que el caso llegara a juicio. La cobertura no informó que el juicio ya se hubiera celebrado. Telemundo, declaraciones del abogado tras la audiencia y Telemundo, por qué el caso podría llegar a juicio.
Con la información publicada hasta esa fecha, no se puede afirmar que Martínez haya sido condenado ni que el juicio haya ocurrido. No se encontró una fuente posterior que confirmara una sentencia antes del 7 de octubre de 2026.

La demanda laboral es un asunto distinto
En julio de 2026, Univision informó sobre una demanda laboral presentada contra Villarreal por alguien que afirmó haber trabajado para Martínez. El abogado de Villarreal sostuvo que esa persona no había sido empleada de su clienta y expresó sospechas sobre el caso; la nota no demuestra que Martínez organizara la demanda.
