What the 2024 winners reveal about country music
The winners show how broadly the ceremony defined contemporary country. Alongside established country stars such as Wallen, Combs, Wilson, and Lambert, the list includes collaborations and crossover records involving Post Malone, MGK, Jelly Roll, Marshmello, and Kacey Musgraves. Dedicated categories for collaboration, crossover, cover, and new-artist songs made that range particularly visible.
Rank #4
That observation describes the shape of the categories and the winning records; it does not claim that the awards used a particular official genre methodology. The People’s Choice Country Awards were presented as fan-selected honors, so the results reflect audience voting rather than a critics’ ranking or a sales-only chart.
