What did OneTaste do, and what is orgasmic meditation?
The DOJ described OneTaste as a privately held sexual-wellness education company founded by Daedone in 2004, with operations in several U.S. cities and London. The company offered paid courses, coaching, OM events and other courses. In the DOJ’s description of the company’s classes, orgasmic meditation (OM) was a hands-on practice in which a woman’s genitals were stroked for 15 minutes; that description should not be taken as a universal account of every event.
According to the DOJ’s account of evidence proven at trial, from 2006 through May 2018 Daedone and Cherwitz obtained labor and services from women who had turned to OneTaste for healing and spirituality by coercing them to perform work, including sexual labor, for the defendants’ benefit. The DOJ described economic, sexual, emotional, financial and psychological abuse, as well as surveillance, indoctrination and intimidation. These are prosecutors’ characterizations of trial evidence, not additional verdicts separate from the conspiracy conviction. The DOJ conviction release provides its account.

How did the case move from charges to sentencing?
- June 6, 2023 — indictment: The DOJ announced charges against Daedone and Cherwitz. An indictment states allegations, not proof or a verdict. The 2023 announcement is useful for the charging-stage history.
- June 9, 2025 — verdict: After a five-week trial, the jury convicted both defendants of forced labor conspiracy. The DOJ’s release records the verdict.
- March 30, 2026 — sentencing: The court imposed the prison terms, forfeiture judgment and restitution award described above. The DOJ’s sentencing release records those orders.
At the time of the verdict, the Associated Press reported that defense lawyers said their clients maintained their innocence and intended to appeal. That report does not establish whether an appeal is pending now or whether a later court has changed the judgment; no current appeal status is stated here. Associated Press coverage of the verdict.
