Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteChoose OBS video settings according to what supplies the picture: a camera or capture card, a still image, or a prerecorded video or playlist. There is no single OBS preset for Marathi devotional programming. Set up the right source, match its supported mode and your computer’s capacity, then run a test before broadcasting.
Choose the right OBS source for your visual
In OBS, add the source type that matches your input. These choices are not interchangeable: a live device needs a device source, while a still image or prerecorded media uses a different source.
- Live webcam or capture card: add a Video Capture Device source on systems where it is available. Linux uses the V4L2 source; Blackmagic devices have a separate source.
- Still devotional artwork: add an Image Source.
- One prerecorded video: add a Media Source and enable Loop if it should repeat.
- Playlist: use VLC Video. OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default, and VLC must be installed for the source to be available.
OBS documents these source types but does not prescribe a special source or video preset for Marathi devotional content. See the OBS guides for Video Capture Devices, sources, and Media Sources.
Set up the source and scene
Camera or capture card
- In the Sources panel, add a Video Capture Device source and select the intended device.
- In the source properties, choose a resolution and frame rate the device supports. An unsupported mode can leave the source blank. Available fields vary by operating system, hardware, and drivers; check the actual properties in your OBS installation rather than assuming every system offers the same controls.
- Arrange the source in the scene. Use transform or crop controls to fit the image to the canvas without cutting off important content.
- If the camera disappears between scenes, check its hidden-source behavior. OBS’s Windows properties document Deactivate when not showing as off by default; enabling it frees resources while hidden but may cause a short delay when the source reappears.
Still image
- Add an Image Source and select the artwork file.
- Fit, position, or crop it in the scene as needed. Confirm that text or other important details remain visible in the output frame.
Prerecorded video or playlist
- For one local file, add a Media Source, select the file, and enable Loop if it should repeat.
- For a playlist, add VLC Video, select the playlist, and check that Loop Playlist is enabled. VLC must be installed.
- Test playback, looping, and behavior when the source is hidden or the scene changes. Visibility and scene changes can affect playback.
OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends a short test before relying on a setup for a broadcast.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose canvas resolution, output resolution, and frame rate
Open Settings → Video. Base (Canvas) Resolution is the working area for arranging the scene; Output (Scaled) Resolution is the size sent to the stream. Keep those roles distinct when fitting a camera, image, or video to the layout.
OBS’s overview gives 720p and 480p as example output resolutions and 30 and 60 fps as example Common FPS Values. These are general examples, not a recommendation for this stream or a guarantee that a destination service accepts them. Check the destination’s current format requirements separately.

- Match the input: for a camera, select a mode the device supports. For a file, consider the source media’s actual resolution and frame rate.
- Consider motion: a mostly static image or slowly changing devotional visual may not benefit from a higher frame rate as much as fast motion would. Starting at 30 fps to conserve resources is a practical inference, not an official devotional-stream preset.
- Consider system capacity: OBS cautions that 60-fps streaming can be much more taxing than 30 fps. Actual demands depend on content, device, computer, and service.
- Consider output requirements: verify the destination service’s accepted formats; the OBS settings guidance does not identify a streaming destination.
The OBS Project’s OBS Studio Overview Guide says Common FPS Value should match the desired output frame rate, with 30 and 60 as examples. Its resolution examples and performance guidance are general, not measured results for a Marathi devotional broadcast.
Check the stream before broadcasting
- Confirm that the intended source appears in the active scene and that the crop and layout look right.
- For media, watch long enough to confirm the file or playlist repeats as expected and behaves correctly when scenes change.
- Check that audio comes from the intended device or media source. OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends a test lasting a few minutes and checking that audio meters move.
- Run a short test broadcast or recording before the real session. A short test catches configuration problems; it does not establish that a particular computer, device, network, or destination will remain reliable for a long broadcast.
- If continuity matters, keep a tested fallback scene or input available in case the primary source is interrupted. This is operational advice, not a guarantee of uninterrupted broadcasting.
Troubleshoot common source problems
| What you see | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Camera or capture-card source is blank | The selected resolution or frame rate may not be supported, or the device or driver may not be available. | Open the source properties, select the intended device, and try a mode it supports. Check the device and driver on the actual operating system. |
| Camera is slow to appear after a scene change | Deactivate when not showing may be freeing resources while the source is hidden. | Review the source’s hidden-device behavior. Disabling deactivation may avoid the reappearance delay, though it keeps the device initialized while hidden. |
| Video ends instead of repeating | Loop is not enabled for the single-file Media Source. | Open its properties and enable Loop; test the end-to-start transition. |
| Playlist does not repeat or VLC Video is unavailable | Loop Playlist may be off, or VLC may not be installed. | Confirm VLC is installed, check the playlist source’s loop setting, and test playback. |
| Picture is cropped or poorly framed | The source does not fit the scene’s canvas layout. | Use OBS transform and crop controls, then verify the result in the output frame. |
| No audio activity during the test | The intended audio device or media audio may not be routed into the active scene. | Check the selected source and audio meters during a short test before broadcasting. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is a continuous YouTube stream built from uploaded devotional videos, StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. No computer or home internet connection has to stay on. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. In India, UPI works as well as cards. This is for uploaded video, not a live camera feed, and StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
