Why unofficial “free streams” are a bad substitute
Search results for old matches often include unlicensed IPTV pages, mirror sites, pop-ups, Telegram links and downloads that request unknown players or browser extensions. They can create malware, privacy, takedown and legal risks, while offering no reliable guarantee that the video is the advertised match.
Use broadcaster-authorized services and official highlights instead. Do not treat a VPN as a way to bypass a broadcaster’s geographic restrictions; 9Now’s free access was intended for its Australian service area.
Also note that Nine’s free 2025 rugby announcements covered particular Wallabies and Wallaroos programming. They do not prove that every Rugby Championship match was free-to-air. For the complete Australian tournament, Stan Sport was the relevant paid service.
