Netflix secret codes are numeric shortcuts to genre and subgenre pages. They can take you directly to categories that are easy to miss in Netflix’s menus, but they are not passwords or hacks: a code cannot bypass regional licensing, plan restrictions, profile controls or Netflix’s current catalog.
Use this address in a browser, replacing CODE with a category ID: https://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/CODE. For example, Action & Adventure is code 1365, while Martial Arts Movies is 8985.

What Netflix secret codes actually do
Netflix organizes its catalog into broad genres and much narrower subgenres. Each category has a numeric identifier. The normal Netflix interface may show only a selection of those categories, while a code opens the category page directly.
Some pages are broad, and others may contain only a handful of titles. Netflix’s own category URLs include pages such as Exciting Movies, Only on Netflix and US Movies. The page is an official Netflix browsing page; the code is not a separate account feature or a public guarantee of a permanent catalog.

How to use a Netflix code
On a computer
- Open a browser and sign in at Netflix.
- Enter
https://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/CODEin the address bar. - Replace
CODEwith the category number, then press Enter. - Browse the rows, open a title and add worthwhile finds to My List.
For a general anime browse, try https://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/7424. The browser workflow is also documented by TechRadar.
On a phone or tablet
Open the URL in the device’s web browser. If the link attempts to switch to the Netflix app, return to the browser or enable the browser’s desktop-site option. You can then search for a title in the app or add it to My List.
On a smart TV or streaming device
Most TV interfaces do not provide a useful address bar. Open the category on a phone or computer, note the titles, and search for those titles in the TV’s Netflix app. Searching the category name may work on some devices, but it is not the same as opening the numeric URL.
Netflix secret codes worth trying
This is a curated starting set, not a promise of every current Netflix category. Third-party lists can become stale, so open each link and confirm what your profile can see.

Why a code may not show the title you expect
Region and licensing
Netflix says its catalog varies by country and changes over time. A category can therefore contain different titles in different regions, or lose a title while its code continues to resolve.
Profile and maturity settings
A profile’s maturity rating, language preferences and Kids restrictions affect which titles appear. Two people using the same code can see different rows.
Plan restrictions
Netflix documents lock icons for titles unavailable on some ad-supported plans because of licensing restrictions. A code does not remove that lock; see Netflix’s plan-availability guidance.

Overlapping classifications
Netflix can place one title in several categories by theme, tone, language, country or format. Its classification may not match an everyday definition of a genre, so an apparently unexpected result is not necessarily an error.
What to do when a Netflix code does not work
- Check that the path is
/browse/genre/, not/browse/genres/. - Use digits only; remove spaces, brackets, punctuation and quotation marks.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the intended Netflix account and profile.
- Try a private or incognito browser window.
- Use the main
www.netflix.comdomain instead of an old country-specific or third-party link. - Notice whether Netflix redirects the page, shows an empty category or displays an error.
- Try a known working link, such as 1365, to separate a stale code from a browser-session problem.
- Search the category name or an individual title manually.
- Check maturity settings, Kids-profile limitations and plan locks before assuming the title has disappeared.
Do not treat a VPN as a fix. It does not make a category code itself more reliable and introduces separate availability and account-policy questions.
Do the codes reveal more movies and shows?
They can reveal a category page that is not prominent in Netflix’s visible menus. They do not necessarily reveal titles absent from Netflix search, and they do not enlarge the catalog available to your country, profile or plan. A page may show fewer titles than an older article lists, or return an empty or region-specific result.
Secret codes versus other ways to discover documentaries and films
Netflix search and normal categories
Use the standard interface when you want the simplest experience on a television or when you already know the title. Codes are more useful for browsing a narrow interest without relying only on personalized rows.

JustWatch is useful in the United States when the question is where a title is streaming. It filters across services by provider, genre, year, rating and other criteria; it does not open Netflix’s internal category pages.

The category pages resolve on Netflix’s domains, but large master lists published by third parties are reference material, not a permanent Netflix-maintained database. Netflix can change a category or its contents without changing how an old list describes it.
