NCIS: Origins Season 2 follows young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and the Camp Pendleton team through another year of cases in the early 1990s. The season premiered Oct. 14, 2025, returned from its winter break with “Fools Rush In” on March 3, 2026, and concluded with “Hollywood Ending” on May 5, 2026. Here’s who stars, what the season covers, and what CBS has announced about Season 3.
What is NCIS: Origins Season 2 about?
Set years before the events of NCIS, the series follows a young Gibbs as he joins the fledgling Naval Criminal Investigative Service office at Camp Pendleton. Mark Harmon narrates as the older Gibbs. Season 2 continues the team’s investigations while exploring the experiences that shape Gibbs in his early career. CBS describes the series as following “a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in the early ‘90s, years prior to the events of NCIS, and is narrated by Mark Harmon.” CBS’s official series page provides the series premise and episode listing.
How Season 2 opens
The season premiere, “The Funky Bunch,” sets up a case involving a missing young Marine and a mysterious compound led by a charismatic figure. CBS’s synopsis says, “Gibbs and Franks investigate the disappearance of a young Marine connected to a mysterious compound with a charismatic leader and Lala’s fate is revealed.” The episode also addresses Lala Dominguez’s fate. See the CBS episode page for “The Funky Bunch”.
Who is in the NCIS: Origins Season 2 cast?
The central ensemble combines the young Camp Pendleton agents with returning characters from the larger NCIS story. Paramount+’s Season 2 guide identifies the cast and roles.
