Maya Brady is Tom Brady’s niece, but her own résumé is the story: she finished her UCLA career in 2024 among the program’s most prolific power hitters, then moved into professional softball. In 2026, she played for the Oklahoma City Spark and set an Athletes Unlimited Softball League single-season home run record with 11.
How is Maya Brady related to Tom Brady?
Maya Ann Brady-Timmons is the daughter of Maureen Brady and Brian Timmons. UCLA identifies Tom Brady and former Major League Baseball player Kevin Youkilis as her uncles; MLB’s July 2025 profile identifies Maureen as Tom Brady’s sister. Maureen was an All-American pitcher at Fresno State, according to UCLA’s player guide. UCLA’s 2024 softball guide lists the family details, while MLB’s July 2025 profile describes the sibling relationship.
In that MLB interview, Maya said of watching her uncles’ careers, “You can learn so much by just watching them, watching both of their careers,” and described the professional opportunity as “It’s honestly just a dream come true.” Those family ties are part of her biography; her playing record stands on its own.
What did Maya Brady accomplish at UCLA?
Brady played for UCLA from 2020 through 2024. She was the Pac-12 Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, a four-time All-Pac-12 honoree, and a three-time NFCA First-Team All-American, according to her Athletes Unlimited Softball League profile.

The available UCLA guide is an earlier snapshot: it records 54 home runs and 178 RBIs through the 2023 season. MLB reported her completed UCLA career totals as 71 home runs and 246 RBIs, both second in program history. The figures differ because the guide predates her final college season; they are not competing totals for the same cutoff.
Where does she play now?
Brady is a professional player, not a current UCLA student-athlete. After making her AUSL debut with the Utah Talons in 2025, she was selected first overall by the Oklahoma City Spark in the league’s expansion draft on December 2, 2025. Her current AUSL profile lists her with the Spark in 2026.
