No: the finale does not kill off the Avengers in the main MCU. The four-part series takes place in an alternate zombie world connected to What If…?, not the main timeline. Kamala’s apparent return to normal life is undercut by a glitch and Riri’s warning; the ending suggests that Kamala is seeing a false reality, not that Wanda has cured the plague.
What happens at the end of Marvel Zombies?
Wanda’s plan is to take the combined power of the Infinity Stones, channeled by Hulk, and use Kamala’s powers to reshape the world. The surviving heroes resist, but the balance shifts against them. Kamala ultimately gives in.

She wakes at home in what appears to be an ordinary life and encounters Riri and Kate. Then the scene fractures: flashes of the zombie world intrude, and Riri tells Kamala that what she is seeing is not real.
Is Kamala really back home?
The strongest reading is no. The apparent homecoming is a false reality concealing the zombie world from Kamala. The glitches and Riri’s warning point to that interpretation, but the finale does not explicitly confirm that Wanda created the illusion or explain its mechanics. It also does not show a cure or establish that the outbreak has been reversed.

Did Scarlet Witch cure the zombie plague?
The ending does not establish that she did. Wanda’s offer concerns reshaping the world, and Kamala’s apparent normal life could look like a successful restoration at first. The final warning and visual breaks undermine that reading. Treat the plague’s status as unresolved on screen; the evidence points more strongly to concealment than to a cure.
How is Riri alive at the end?
Riri appears alive when she reaches Kamala in the final scene. Earlier, she injects herself after being bitten, and the recap notes that she is never shown dying. That may be connected to her survival, but the ending does not fully establish how the injection worked or confirm a precise survival mechanism.

Does this mean the main MCU Avengers are dead?
No. Disney describes Marvel Zombies as an expansion of the dystopian world introduced in What If…? and says it is not a direct continuation of that episode’s cliffhanger. Deaths and transformations in this zombie setting belong to its alternate reality; they are not a wipeout of the Avengers in the main MCU timeline. Disney’s official feature identifies survivors including Scott Lang, Yelena Belova, Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Valkyrie, Shang-Chi, Katy Chen, Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, and Riri Williams. The official Disney+ listing describes a zombie plague overtaking the Avengers and a group of survivors searching for a way to end it.

Disney presents the show as a four-part event series, set within the wider lore but designed to work on its own. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, said: “It stands alone as an epic adventure set inside a greater lore.” He also said viewers could come to it “completely blind” and understand the story.

Director, writer, and executive producer Bryan Andrews explained Kamala’s role as the audience’s point of view: “She’s young enough, naïve enough, and she hasn’t quite gotten a hold of all of her powers just yet, so we realized she could be a good foil in the zombie universe.” That offers context for why the story follows her through an extreme alternate world, but it is not a creator-confirmed explanation of the finale’s last scene.
