Spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo finale. Modulo strongly suggests that Megumi Fushiguro is no longer alive by the time of the sequel, but it never explains when or how he died. The story offers a hint about his status, not a full account of his fate.
What does Modulo say about Megumi?
In a conversation with Yuji, Nobara refers to Megumi as no longer around. The regretful tone of the exchange is read as implying that he has died. The finale gives Megumi only a brief mention, however, and does not provide a detailed explanation of his circumstances.

That distinction matters: the implication is that Megumi is gone, but the story does not explicitly lay out the timing or cause. There is no verified exact line of dialogue to quote, so summaries of the scene should be treated as interpretation rather than a verbatim statement.
Why does the sequel leave the question open?
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo shifts its focus to Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu in a future set 68 years after the Culling Game, according to Crunchyroll News. Its distance from the original cast helps explain why Megumi is not followed as a central character, though it does not fill in what happened to him.

For context on Megumi in the original series, VIZ also offers Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 25 in paperback and digital formats. It concerns Fushiguro’s body during the main series; it is not a Modulo volume and does not answer what happened to Megumi in the sequel.
