Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death is a theatrical compilation of the anime’s five-episode Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc. It follows teenage Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto on a mission to protect Riko Amanai, and revisits the friendship that shapes their later conflict. The film opened in Japan on May 30, 2025, and has been announced for streaming on Crunchyroll from June 5, 2026; availability depends on territory.
What is Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death about?
The film adapts the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death story arc from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. Its story looks back to Gojo and Geto’s high-school years, when the two are friends and fellow jujutsu sorcerers. Their assignment is to protect Riko Amanai, a student designated as the Star Plasma Vessel, from a religious cult and other curse users. The mission puts their bond and beliefs under pressure.
GKIDS summarized the relationship in its May 8, 2025 release announcement: “Before they were enemies, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were high school classmates and friends.”
Is the movie just the Hidden Inventory arc?
It is a theatrical compilation of the five episodes that make up the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, not a new standalone chapter of the main story. The core distinction from the television version is format: one feature presentation rather than five episodes. TOHO animation’s official trailer describes a remixed full soundtrack in 5.1-channel surround, with rearranged tracks. The sources announcing the film do not establish that it adds substantial new scenes or changes the story.
