In a video posted to Instagram on August 5, 2024, she shared a look at that preparation; the details are her account of a personal routine, not a fitness prescription or a measured performance result.
What Jennifer Garner said her Elektra training involved
Garner’s August 5 video showed parts of her preparation, while her caption, reproduced by ComicBook.com on August 6, 2024, supplied the routine’s context. She joked that she “was fit, but not Marvel fit” and had not picked up Elektra’s sais since 2004.
Garner credited her “bestie and OG stunt double,” Shauna Duggins, and trainer Beth Nicely at The Limit. She said they led training once a day, with homework for a possible second workout. She also said she boxed three times a week with Flvco the Future at Matchroom x Churchill Gym and did “lots and lots” of Peloton workouts with instructor Becs Gentry.
Good Morning America’s August 5, 2024 report described the video as showing weight lifting, box jumps, aquatic workouts and sai practice. Those are reported elements of the post, not a complete training log. The coverage does not establish when the preparation began or ended, or how many sessions Garner completed.

Why she returned as Elektra
Garner said Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds came up with the idea for Elektra’s appearance while they were working on The Adam Project. She described their creative rapport as “a crazy artistic kismet,” adding, “I didn’t know that Elektra and I needed an ending, but Shawn and Ryan did.” These are Garner’s reflections on the idea, rather than independent confirmation of the filmmakers’ intentions.
Garner first played Elektra in Daredevil (2003) and returned for the character’s standalone film, Elektra (2005). Her 2024 appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine brought her back to the role. In her caption, she also recalled the fight scene as a joyful reunion: “Shooting the fight was so fun, being there all together—truly like a dream.”

Garner shared another Elektra-related video on August 11, 2024. In its August 13 report, ABC News described it as a humorous tour of Elektra’s surroundings in the film’s Void, with references to Blade, Gambit, X-23 and Johnny Storm. That was a separate behind-the-scenes post, not the August 5 training video.

Her description gives a clear outline of the preparation she chose to share: coached daily conditioning, boxing, cycling workouts and weapons practice. It does not establish a standardized training plan, a health benefit, a performance metric or that any one workout or product caused a particular result. Garner’s mention of Peloton, Becs Gentry, The Limit and the gym is not, by itself, evidence of sponsorship or endorsement.
