At Mirra, players dodge virtual hazards while friends watch the action on a giant screen, then swap places for the next round. The Bellevue venue combines team-based virtual reality games with a restaurant, bar and event space—a format closer to a spectator-friendly game show than a row of isolated VR arcade stations.
What Mirra is—and what it isn’t
Mirra’s first U.S. location opened in Bellevue, Washington, in August 2024, on the third floor of Lincoln Square South in Bellevue Collection. The original venue was described as roughly 10,700 square feet, with capacity for up to 482 people. Those figures describe the opening-era site, not the number of players in a game session. Mirra’s opening announcement and its press-release archive provide the venue details.
The central idea is communal play. A team sends two players into the active game at a time while teammates and other guests watch, cheer, eat or drink. Mirra describes the play area as semi-open, rather than an enclosed VR room, so neighboring bays can remain part of the same social setting. That makes it different from a conventional arcade built around individual stations, an escape room built around one continuous puzzle, or a bar where games are only a side attraction. Mirra’s FAQ explains the semi-open format.
In a GeekWire preview published August 18, 2024, players were fitted with Meta Quest 3 headsets and tracked in a central play area. The report described hand and body movement rather than conventional handheld controllers, with tablets at tables and the action displayed on a large screen. That account captures the opening-era setup; Mirra’s current game descriptions emphasize the session format and lineup.

How a session works
Mirra currently describes its Arena Social VR Game Show as a one-hour experience with five rounds. Two players per team are active in a round, allowing teammates to rotate in and out. The large screen gives spectators a view of the virtual action, so the people waiting between turns remain part of the event. Mirra’s games page describes the current format.
- Check in, complete registration and allow time for equipment fitting.
- Join a team and get fitted with the headset and any other equipment required for the session.
- Two players from each team enter the tracked play area for a round while others watch.
- Take turns across the rounds; the current advertised format is five rounds in one hour.
- Stay for food, drinks or other programming if you want to make the visit a longer outing.
The game hour is not the same as the total time you should budget for a visit. Check-in, fitting, meals and drinks can add time, and Mirra asks guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled experience.
What the games are like
The four games featured in the 2024 preview remain useful examples of Mirra’s approach: familiar competitive ideas translated into physical movement inside VR. GeekWire reported the play details below during that preview; they should not be read as a guarantee that every title or rule is unchanged today.

Hockey Smash
This is an air-hockey-style contest in VR, not a real table and puck. The preview described fast two-on-two play, with players moving to send the virtual puck toward the opposing side. Mirra now lists Hockey Smash Sky Arena as well as Hockey Smash, indicating an expanded or re-themed version in its catalog.
Laser Room
Players move through a virtual laboratory-like setting and physically dodge laser hazards or other obstacles. It is a movement challenge, not a stationary shooting game.
Hyper Rhythm
This rhythm-and-reaction game asks players to move in time with music while avoiding hazards. Mirra’s current catalog also lists Hyper Rhythm Vol. 2.

Bubble Boom
In the preview’s account, players launched virtual balls toward groups of matching bubbles, with chain clears increasing the score multiplier. Its color-matching mechanic resembles arcade puzzlers such as Bust-A-Move. That scoring detail is from the 2024 report, not a confirmed current ruleset.

Mirra’s games page also lists Jackpot in Pairs, Treasure Dash, Soccer Smash, Double Take, Sweet Kitchen, Sweet Kitchen: Eastern Feast, Catch Clash, Cemetery Drive and Snowflake Quest, alongside the additional Hockey Smash and Hyper Rhythm versions. The venue describes a mix of reaction, strategy, memory, teamwork and movement. Some titles may be seasonal, so check the lineup when booking rather than assuming every game will be available on your date.
How Mirra differs from other ways to play

These are differences in format, not a claim that one kind of outing is universally better. Mirra’s strongest distinction is that spectatorship and taking turns are built into the game night.

Food, drinks and the room around the game
The 2024 preview described an upscale gastropub feel, with booths, a full bar, shareable dishes and a central screen showing gameplay and scenic environments between sessions. The reported preview menu included sliders, flatbread pizza, dumplings, shrimp, lamb skewers, corn and pita; organizers said vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options were planned. That is a snapshot of the preview, not a current menu guarantee. GeekWire’s report details the opening-era experience.
Mirra’s current materials position the venue as a mix of dining, nightlife, games and events, with world-inspired shareables, cocktails, a large LED display and late-night programming. Its events page lists private celebrations and corporate occasions as well as other group uses.
Who is likely to enjoy it?
- Friend groups: A good fit for people who want an active outing with built-in turns and an audience.
- Families: Mirra says the games are best suited to ages 8 and up, though the venue’s age and supervision rules still apply.
- Birthday groups and companies: The structured rounds can give a gathering a shared activity; private-event options are available by inquiry.
- Visitors seeking dinner plus entertainment: The combination can suit a group that wants food and an activity in one place.
- Nightlife crowds: Mirra advertises Friday and Saturday After Dark programming for guests 21 and older.
It may be a poor fit for someone looking for a long story-driven VR adventure, a quiet meal, low-cost unlimited arcade play or uninterrupted turns for every person. The format is active and competitive, and it depends on rotating players rather than everyone playing continuously.

Before booking: age, access and safety
- Group size: Mirra’s terms say a bay comfortably accommodates two to eight people. Do not assume that this figure defines capacity for every session or private event.
- Arrival and clothing: Arrive at least 30 minutes before the experience. Wear casual, comfortable clothing that allows movement.
- Physical requirements: Mirra says players need to walk unassisted for approximately 10 minutes and use both hands for many games.
- Accessibility: The venue says it and its bays are ADA compliant, but its current VR gameplay is not wheelchair friendly. Accessibility of the building should not be taken to mean every game is accessible.
- Health cautions: Mirra warns that visual content may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy and does not recommend the VR experience for people with epilepsy, heart conditions or those who are pregnant.
- Age and alcohol: Games are described as best for ages 8 and up. Mirra’s terms say children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult under Washington state law. Bar service is limited to guests 21 and older, and After Dark events are advertised as 21+; check the venue’s current rules for minors’ hours.
- Animals and recording: Mirra permits certified service animals, not pets or emotional-support animals. Its terms include consent for promotional image and video use unless guests notify the venue before the event.
Reservations, price and cancellation rules
Mirra recommends reserving ahead, especially for groups; walk-ins may be possible for food and drinks but can involve waiting. The official Mirra homepage is the route to reservations and gift vouchers. The current standard admission price was not clearly stated in the official materials reviewed here, so check the live booking flow before committing. GeekWire reported a price of about $50 per person for one hour after the 2024 preview; that is historical context, not a current quote.
Do not assume a game reservation includes food, drinks, taxes, gratuity, a private event, or After Dark admission unless the booking terms state so. Mirra advertises birthday packages, private and corporate events, VIP booths and gift vouchers, but package inclusions and prices should be confirmed directly in the relevant booking or inquiry process. Its events page handles party and event inquiries.
Mirra’s terms state that a full refund is available with one week’s notice, changes are permitted up to 72 hours in advance, and changes or refunds are not available within 48 hours, subject to the stated terms. Guests who do not arrive or whose experience is shortened by lateness are not entitled to a refund under those terms. Read the applicable terms before booking and plan for the early-arrival requirement.

The opening-era story centered on four games and a venue preparing to launch. Mirra’s current presentation is broader: it advertises a five-round, one-hour format, a larger catalog that includes seasonal titles, family-oriented daytime play, birthday packages, corporate and private bookings, sports watch parties, gift vouchers and 21+ After Dark events with DJs. The venue has evolved from a novel VR attraction into a social-entertainment space where games are one part of a wider night out.
