You can run Tamil children’s stories on YouTube Live from India using an encoder and a verified, eligible channel. Prepare a prerecorded video feed in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, connect the encoder with your stream key, and monitor the stream. Before going live, decide whether the content is Made for Kids, confirm rights to every version and media component, and plan separately for replay preservation: YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted 24-hour broadcasts, and streams exceeding 12 hours may not be archived.
Before you start: channel eligibility and your 24/7 plan
YouTube supports encoder livestreaming, including feeds built from prerecorded video. Its guidance recommends preparing the encoder stream ahead of time, checking the preview, and monitoring audio and video quality. A channel must be verified, have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16 years old. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live streaming tips.
“24/7” describes the intended schedule, not a YouTube uptime guarantee. A single continuous broadcast can be interrupted, and YouTube’s archive guidance warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving watchable replays matters, plan shorter live sessions and keep separate local copies of the stories.
Set up the story feed with an encoder
- Prepare the videos. Assemble the stories into a continuous video or playlist that you have the right to use. Check the order, transitions, narration, music, picture and sound before scheduling the broadcast.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and choose encoder streaming. Follow the current prompts to get the stream details, including the stream key. Treat that key as a password: do not publish or share it, and replace it if it is exposed.
- Connect your encoder. Use an encoder that can send your prepared video and audio to YouTube. A software encoder on a local computer means that computer and its internet connection must remain operating while the feed runs. YouTube also recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, but does not require one for a prerecorded story loop or name a specific model.
- Match the output to your source and YouTube’s current guidance. Choose a resolution, frame rate, bitrate, audio format and keyframe interval supported by your encoder and the settings YouTube currently specifies. Avoid assuming a single setting fits every source: no universal bitrate or minimum hardware specification is established in YouTube’s cited guidance. Consult YouTube’s encoder guidance, then test the actual video and audio in the Live Control Room preview before relying on the setup.
- Start and monitor. Start the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, check picture and sound, then start the live broadcast in Studio if the workflow prompts you to do so. Keep an eye on the encoder and Studio status, especially during the first session.
- Plan handoffs and replays. If reliable replay files are important, use sessions shorter than 12 hours where practical, save a local recording, and upload replay videos separately as needed. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while one exceeding 12 hours may not be captured; this is not a guarantee that every shorter stream will produce a complete replay. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Choose the audience setting carefully
A Tamil story stream made for children should be assessed honestly for YouTube’s Made for Kids audience designation. YouTube names children’s stories, child-directed language, child actors, characters and children’s activities among the factors to consider. The creator is responsible for classifying content accurately, wherever they are located. YouTube states: “Regardless of your location, we require you to tell us whether or not your videos are made for kids.” Review its guidance on determining whether content is made for kids and set the audience for the stream accordingly in Studio.

What a Made for Kids live stream changes
Plan the broadcast without relying on interactive or personalized features. For Made for Kids livestreams, YouTube disables live chat, comments, personalized ads, notifications, Super Chat and Super Stickers, among other features. Contextual ads may still appear, but these sources do not establish or predict income. YouTube outlines the limits in Avoid restrictions on YouTube live streaming.
Clear rights for every part of every story
Do not assume that a familiar folktale is free to broadcast just because the underlying story is old. Rights can apply to the particular text or translation, narration, music, illustration or animation, recording, and any third-party footage. Verify the status of each version and keep permission or license records for the exact materials used. YouTube says creators must verify public-domain status themselves, and rules can vary by region; its Copyright on YouTube guidance explains the general considerations.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. Its help page says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A rights owner’s permission alone may not prevent a live interruption if the owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Confirm with the rights owner that the channel is allowlisted when required, and consult YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Local encoder or dedicated hardware?
| Approach | What it means for this setup | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a local computer | The computer sends the prepared feed to YouTube; it and the local connection need to keep running. | Fewer dedicated streaming components, but the creator must keep the machine and connection operating and monitor the broadcast. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A separate encoder handles the feed. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, but says hardware is not required for a prerecorded story loop. | Compare supported input and output formats, redundancy and monitoring needs before purchasing. The cited guidance does not establish a model or minimum specification. |
Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: check that the channel is verified, that no live-stream restriction applies from the previous 90 days, and that the streamer meets YouTube’s minimum age requirement. Review the eligibility guidance.
- Studio does not show an encoder preview: confirm the encoder is sending to the stream details currently shown in Live Control Room and that the correct stream key is in use. Recheck the key privately rather than exposing it in a public message or screenshot.
- The broadcast has no picture or sound, or quality is poor: check the encoder’s selected source, audio input, output settings and connection; compare them with YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Use the preview and a test session to find problems before scheduling a long run.
- A live stream is interrupted after a copyright match: identify the matched component and verify that you have rights to that exact version. If licensed material is involved, ask the rights owner whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting; permission by itself may not prevent a live interruption.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: do not depend on automatic archiving for a stream over 12 hours. Keep a local copy and use shorter sessions or separate uploads when a replay is important.
- Chat, notifications or monetization features are unavailable: check whether the stream is correctly marked Made for Kids and plan around the associated feature restrictions. Contextual ads may appear, but no earnings are assured.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is an alternative for keeping a prerecorded YouTube feed running without leaving a local computer on: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, not from a camera. The stream can continue with your computer off; uploaded quality is kept up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, once per account. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. You still need to set the Made for Kids audience correctly and have rights to all content you upload.
