Who owns and runs the combined company?
Disney became the majority owner, with approximately 70% of the company at closing. Fubo co-founder and chief executive David Gandler continued to lead the business, and Andy Bird was announced as board chair. The stock continues to trade under Fubo’s name and ticker, NYSE: FUBO. These are corporate-control facts—not evidence that Hulu subscribers have been converted into Fubo customers.
What changes for existing subscribers?
Hulu + Live TV customers
- Your service remains delivered through the Hulu app.
- You do not automatically become a Fubo subscriber or receive a Fubo account.
- There is no verified requirement to migrate, recreate an account or replace your plan because of the transaction.
- Prices, channels and add-ons remain dependent on the Hulu plan, market and current rights agreements.

Fubo customers
- Fubo remains a separate sports-first service in the Fubo app.
- You do not automatically receive Hulu + Live TV or Hulu’s on-demand catalog.
- Some Hulu Live packages can be viewed or selected through Fubo’s aggregated e-commerce flow, but that is distribution integration, not an app merger.
- Channel availability still depends on your Fubo plan, location and applicable rights.
Do not cancel either service solely because of the merger headline. The official materials do not say that current customers must switch services or that a single discounted bundle has replaced existing plans.

Hulu Live packages in Fubo commerce
In its May 6, 2026 results announcement, Fubo said Hulu Live programming packages had become available through its aggregated e-commerce flow. Why did Disney and Fubo combine?
The companies cited greater scale in live streaming, more flexible programming packages, potential content-cost efficiencies, improved advertising optimization and broader sales and marketing opportunities. The transaction also resolved litigation involving Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery’s proposed Venu Sports service and Fubo’s challenge to that proposal. Settlement of that dispute was part of the transaction; it was not a promise of a single Fubo-Hulu application.

Early announcements cited more than 6.2 million combined North American subscribers, while the closing announcement used “nearly 6 million.” Those launch figures should not be treated as the current total.

In the latest located company-reported results, covering the quarter ended March 31, 2026, Fubo reported 5.7 million North American paid subscribers for the combined business, down from 6.2 million in the preceding quarter. The company also reported $1.566 billion in North American revenue for the quarter and $37.7 million in global adjusted EBITDA. Management gave fiscal 2026 pro forma adjusted EBITDA guidance of $80 million to $100 million and a long-term target of at least $300 million in fiscal 2028. Subscriber totals are period-specific. Fubo’s definition counts paid subscribers who completed registration, activated a payment method and generated a collected payment during the relevant month; free and trial users are excluded.

Which service should you keep?
Keep or choose Hulu + Live TV when
- Your household wants Hulu and Disney+ on-demand libraries alongside live television.
- You prefer the Hulu app and Disney ecosystem.
- Specific NBCUniversal or entertainment channels are essential.
Keep or choose Fubo when
- Live sports are the main reason you subscribe.
- You value Fubo’s sports-first discovery experience or sports packages.
- You want Fubo’s Latino offerings and do not need Hulu’s full on-demand catalog.
Consider both when
- Must-have channels are split between the two lineups.
- A Fubo household needs programming carried by Hulu + Live TV.
- A Hulu household wants Fubo Sports Network or another Fubo-specific offering.
Having one corporate owner does not remove the possibility of paying for two separate subscriptions.
