In the United States, UFC 311’s main card was a separate ESPN+ pay-per-view that began at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. The early prelims began at 6 p.m. ET and the prelims at 8 p.m. ET on a combination of ESPN+, Disney+, ESPNEWS, FX and, according to UFC’s event listing, UFC Fight Pass. An ESPN+ subscription alone did not include the PPV main card.
This is a historical watch guide and replay reference, not a current live-event listing. UFC’s U.S. live-event rights moved from ESPN+ to Paramount+ in 2026, so the 2025 prices and viewing instructions below should not be treated as current UFC subscription advice.

What changed before UFC 311?
Arman Tsarukyan was scheduled to challenge Islam Makhachev for the UFC lightweight championship in the event’s originally advertised rematch. On January 17, 2025, UFC announced that Tsarukyan had withdrawn because of back issues. Renato Moicano stepped in as the replacement.

The late change also removed Beneil Dariush from the card. Jailton Almeida vs. Serghei Spivac was moved onto the main card. The final event was therefore not Makhachev–Tsarukyan 2, despite that matchup remaining in some older URLs, search results and promotional material. UFC’s withdrawal announcement and card update document the changes.
Makhachev defeated Moicano by D’Arce choke submission at 4:05 of the first round. Tsarukyan did not fight at UFC 311.
Historical U.S. schedule and platforms
These were the published U.S. start times for January 18, 2025. Individual fights started later than the listed window because UFC broadcasts run continuously and bout length varies.
| Broadcast section | U.S. start time | Platforms listed at the time |
|---|---|---|
| Early prelims | 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT on Saturday, January 18 | ESPN+ and Disney+. UFC’s event listing also identified UFC Fight Pass. |
| Prelims | 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Saturday, January 18 | ESPN+, ESPNEWS, Disney+ and FX |
| Main card | 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, January 18 | ESPN+ PPV |
For viewers in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, the main card began at 3 a.m. GMT on Sunday, January 19. In Australia, the main card began at 2 p.m. AEDT on Sunday, January 19. The U.S. schedule was published by the ESPN Press Room.
Did ESPN+ include the UFC 311 PPV?
No. A qualifying ESPN+ subscription and the UFC 311 PPV purchase were separate requirements for a U.S. viewer who wanted the main card.
- ESPN+ subscription: Provided access to ESPN+ programming and the ESPN+ portions of the earlier UFC 311 coverage.
- UFC 311 PPV purchase: Required separately for the five-fight main card.
- Disney+: Carried the early-prelim and prelim windows under the 2025 ESPN/Disney distribution arrangement, but it was not the place to purchase or stream the ESPN PPV.
- ESPN website or app: ESPN’s support documentation said ESPN PPV events had to be purchased and streamed through the ESPN website or ESPN app, rather than through Disney+.
That distinction mattered because the phrase ESPN+ PPV could easily be mistaken for an all-inclusive ESPN+ subscription. It was not. The ESPN PPV and Disney+ support page confirms the purchase limitation.
What UFC 311 cost in the U.S. in January 2025
All figures in this section are historical prices available around UFC 311’s January 2025 broadcast. They are not current ESPN+ or UFC prices.
| Viewer | Historical cost | What it meant |
|---|---|---|
| Existing ESPN+ subscriber | $79.99 | Purchase the UFC 311 PPV separately. |
| New monthly subscriber | Approximately $91.98 total | One month of ESPN+ at the then-listed $11.99 rate plus the $79.99 PPV. |
| New annual subscriber | $134.98 bundle | Annual ESPN+ access plus the UFC 311 PPV under the advertised new-subscriber offer. |
The annual ESPN+ price cited at the time was $119.99 and the monthly price was $11.99. Promotional bundles and account eligibility can change, so those figures should only be used to understand what UFC 311 cost in 2025. Historical pricing was reported by Tom’s Guide, with similar figures also reported by Sherdog and Yahoo Sports.

- Create or sign in to an eligible ESPN account.
- Subscribe to ESPN+ if the account did not already have access.
- Open the ESPN website or ESPN app and find the UFC 311 event listing.
- Buy the UFC 311 PPV separately. Buying or viewing the prelims on Disney+ did not complete this step.
- Watch the main card through the ESPN website or ESPN app.
- Use the applicable ESPN+, Disney+, ESPNEWS, FX or UFC Fight Pass listing for the earlier portions of the event.
ESPN supported web browsers and a broad range of connected devices, including iPhone and iPad, Android, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Android TV, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Xfinity and Cox devices. The final UFC 311 fight card
The following is the post-withdrawal card, not the original promotional lineup.
Main card
- Islam Makhachev vs. Renato Moicano — UFC lightweight title
- Merab Dvalishvili vs. Umar Nurmagomedov — UFC bantamweight title
- Jiří Procházka vs. Jamahal Hill
- Jailton Almeida vs. Serghei Spivac

Prelims and early prelims
- Payton Talbott vs. Raoni Barcelos

- Grant Dawson vs. Diego Ferreira
- Karol Rosa vs. Ailin Pérez
- Rinya Nakamura vs. Muin Gafurov

Because bouts moved between broadcast windows and several matchups changed after the original announcement, the final UFC event listing is more reliable than early preview cards.
Where UFC 311 was available outside the United States
UFC rights were territory-specific. ESPN+ was not a worldwide UFC service, and a subscription purchased in one country did not automatically provide access in another.

UFC’s historical Canadian listing identified the main card on UFC Fight Pass, Sportsnet+ and a range of local providers, including Rogers, Telus, Bell, Indigo, Eastlink, Cogeco, SaskTel, DAZN, Rumble and YouTube. The prelims were listed on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
Availability, package requirements and prices could differ by provider. Canadian viewers should use the provider’s own UFC 311 listing rather than assume that the U.S. ESPN+ purchase applied.
United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
- Main card: TNT Sports and Discovery+
- Prelims: UFC Fight Pass, TNT Sports and Discovery+
- Early prelims: UFC Fight Pass
- Main-card start: 3 a.m. GMT on Sunday, January 19, 2025
Viewers in the U.K. and Ireland did not need the U.S. ESPN+ PPV route. The relevant historical listings appear in UFC’s international watch guide.
Australia
The main card was distributed through Main Event on Foxtel and Kayo Sports. It began at 2 p.m. AEDT on Sunday, January 19, 2025. This was an Australian PPV arrangement through the Foxtel Group, not the U.S. ESPN+ service. UFC’s Foxtel distribution announcement explains the Australian arrangement.

UFC had an exclusive media-rights agreement with Sony Pictures Networks India through 2028. Readers in India and the Indian subcontinent should therefore look for the authorized Sony UFC listing rather than attempting to use ESPN+ without a territory-specific confirmation. The rights announcement is available from UFC and Sony Pictures Networks India.
Other countries
For countries not listed above, check the country selector and regional information on UFC.com or the official UFC 311 international watch page. Depending on the market, rights may belong to UFC Fight Pass, a local sports network, a regional streaming platform or a local PPV provider. Do not assume that a single service or VPN endpoint works globally.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can a VPN be used to watch UFC 311?
A VPN is not a guaranteed or universal UFC streaming solution. A legitimate use case is a traveler who already has an active subscription in their home market and wants to check whether that broadcaster permits access while abroad. The traveler should first review the service’s travel and location rules.
A VPN does not create a subscription, remove a PPV charge, transfer rights from one country to another or make an unauthorized stream legal. A provider may check the connection’s IP address, device location, account details, payment information and other signals. ESPN says geographic restrictions and blackouts can be enforced through location-verification technology, while the Disney+ subscriber agreement prohibits obscuring or disguising location and allows access to be restricted or terminated for violations. See ESPN’s blackout policy and the Disney+ subscriber agreement.

A VPN may be blocked, and using one to disguise your location can conflict with the provider’s terms. The reliable option is to use the official broadcaster available in the country where you are watching.
Common VPN and streaming failure messages
- Content unavailable in your region: The service may have detected a location mismatch, or the service may not hold rights in the country where you are watching.
- Playback works and then stops: The platform may have identified a VPN or proxy IP range.
- Login works but video does not: Account authentication and streaming rights are separate checks.
- Mobile app fails while a browser works: Device location services may conflict with the network location.
- Black screen or spinning wheel: Content filters, antivirus web shields, proxy accelerators, pop-up blockers and ad-blocking extensions can interfere with playback.
- Buffering or poor quality: Network congestion, outdated apps, router problems or too many simultaneous streams may be responsible.
For an authorized service, ESPN recommends confirming device support, checking the internet connection, force-closing and relaunching the app, restarting the device, checking HDMI connections, reinstalling the app and trying another supported device. Its playback troubleshooting guide and blank-screen guide provide the detailed steps.
How to watch UFC 311 now
UFC 311 is no longer a live event. The official UFC event page is the dependable place to confirm the final card, result and event information. ESPN also maintains a past-PPV collection that may identify UFC 311, but public indexing does not prove that every account can play the complete event today. Full replay access depends on the current platform, territory and account entitlement, so check the playback page before paying for any service.
Do not confuse an official result page, highlights or individual clips with a full-event replay. Avoid unauthorized streams, which carry legal, security and reliability risks.
Current U.S. UFC rights are different
Beginning in 2026, UFC’s U.S. live-event rights moved to Paramount+. Under the new agreement, numbered UFC events became available to Paramount+ subscribers without a separate PPV charge. This change does not retroactively alter UFC 311’s January 2025 distribution: at that time, the main card was sold as a $79.99 ESPN+ PPV, separate from the ESPN+ subscription.
For a current live UFC event, consult the UFC–Paramount media-rights announcement and Paramount+’s current event listings. Paramount+’s current rights also do not automatically guarantee that the complete UFC 311 replay is available there.
Common mistakes when searching for UFC 311
- Using the original matchup as if it were final: Makhachev fought Moicano, not Tsarukyan.
- Using January 19 as the U.S. event date: The event took place in California on January 18. January 19 was the local date for viewers in parts of Europe and Australia.
- Assuming ESPN+ included the main card: The U.S. PPV had to be purchased separately.
- Trying to buy the PPV through Disney+: Disney+ carried earlier broadcast windows but ESPN directed PPV purchases and streams to its website or app.
- Following an early fight card: Moicano’s move to the main event and other late changes made the final UFC listing authoritative.
- Assuming a VPN makes every broadcaster interchangeable: Rights, blackouts, location checks and provider terms still apply.
- Treating 2025 prices as current: UFC’s U.S. rights and platform model changed in 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did Islam Makhachev fight Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 311?
No. Tsarukyan withdrew on January 17, 2025, because of back issues. Renato Moicano replaced him, and Makhachev defeated Moicano by D’Arce choke submission at 4:05 of Round 1.
Was UFC 311 included with an ESPN+ subscription?
Not completely. In the United States, an ESPN+ subscription was separate from the $79.99 UFC 311 PPV. The main card required the PPV purchase, while earlier portions were distributed across ESPN+, Disney+, ESPNEWS, FX and, according to UFC’s listing, UFC Fight Pass.
Can I still watch UFC 311 live?
No. UFC 311 took place on January 18, 2025. You may find official results, clips or a replay listing through UFC and ESPN, but full-event playback depends on current territory, platform and account entitlement.
Will a VPN let me watch UFC 311 from another country?
Not reliably. A VPN does not provide a subscription or remove a PPV fee, and streaming platforms may block VPNs or restrict accounts for disguising location. Travelers should use an authorized broadcaster in the country where they are watching, if their home-market service permits access abroad.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: UFC 311 was a January 18, 2025 event whose actual main event was Islam Makhachev vs. Renato Moicano, not the promoted Makhachev–Tsarukyan rematch. In the U.S., the historical route was an ESPN+ subscription plus a separate $79.99 PPV purchase for the 10 p.m. ET main card. International viewers used different local rights holders, and a VPN was neither a guaranteed nor universally permitted workaround. For current U.S. UFC events, check Paramount+ rather than relying on the old ESPN+ instructions.
