The 2026 World Series is scheduled to begin Friday, October 23, 2026. The teams have not yet been decided, and exact start times, venues, and the home-team order are still subject to the postseason results and MLB’s final schedule presentation.
In the United States, the World Series is scheduled as a FOX broadcast. MLB also says eligible U.S. MLB.TV subscribers can watch postseason games live after authenticating with a participating pay-TV provider. Outside the United States, MLB.TV generally offers live postseason coverage except in Canada, where viewers need to verify the local rights holder and streaming option separately.

How to watch the World Series in the United States
Option 1: MLB.TV with participating pay-TV credentials
MLB identifies MLB.TV as an online route for every postseason game in the United States when an eligible subscriber authenticates with a participating pay-TV provider. This is not the same as buying an unrestricted standalone MLB.TV subscription and automatically receiving the U.S. World Series broadcast.
To use this route:
- Have an eligible U.S. MLB.TV subscription or account.
- Sign in through MLB.TV on the supported website, mobile app, smart-TV app, or streaming device.
- Select the authentication option for your television provider.
- Choose your provider and enter the provider username and password.
- Return to the postseason or World Series game listing and confirm that the live stream is available in your territory.
MLB’s current participating-provider list includes providers such as DirecTV, Dish, FuboTV, Spectrum, Verizon Fios, Cox, and Optimum, along with other cable, satellite, and telecommunications companies. Participation can vary by network and can change, so check MLB’s current provider-availability and game-availability information before relying on this method.
Blackouts, national exclusivity rules, territory restrictions, and other availability conditions may apply. Do not assume that MLB.TV credentials will work for every U.S. viewer or every game.
Option 2: A live-TV service carrying your local FOX feed
The World Series is listed by MLB as a FOX presentation. A U.S. viewer without participating pay-TV credentials should therefore check whether a current live-TV streaming service carries the viewer’s local FOX station in their ZIP code.

That distinction matters: a service may carry FOX in one market but not another, and local-station coverage, pricing, free-trial terms, and product names may change before October. Before subscribing, verify all of the following:
- FOX is available at your exact address.
- The service carries the correct local FOX affiliate rather than only selected national programming.
- The subscription includes live local channels, not just on-demand content.
- The service supports the device you plan to use.
- The current terms cover the period when you expect to watch the World Series.
If you are comparing providers, look for a live TV service with FOX rather than a general on-demand streaming subscription. The official MLB schedule establishes FOX as the World Series network, but it does not provide a universal, market-by-market list of third-party streaming bundles.
Option 3: An over-the-air antenna
Because FOX is an over-the-air broadcast network, an antenna may be an alternative for viewers who live within reliable reception range of a local FOX affiliate. Reception depends on your address, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and the affiliate serving your market.
Use a local reception checker before buying an indoor TV antenna for FOX. An antenna cannot guarantee access simply because FOX is available somewhere in your region, and it does not provide the internet-streaming features of MLB.TV or a live-TV bundle.

How to watch internationally
Outside Canada
MLB says live postseason games are available internationally through MLB.TV, excluding Canada, and that international subscribers do not need the U.S.-style pay-TV authentication described above.
Availability remains territory-dependent. Before purchasing, check MLB’s official game-availability and schedule tools for your country. Local rights, blackout rules, and the games available in a particular territory can differ from the general international offering.
Canada
Canada is specifically excluded from MLB’s international MLB.TV guidance. Canadian viewers should verify the Canadian rights holder and its current online viewing option rather than assuming that a U.S. MLB.TV subscription or the general international package will provide the live World Series.
The Canadian streaming provider and 2026 terms were not established in the research available for this guide, so check the rights holder’s current announcement closer to the series.

Can a VPN bypass the restrictions?
Do not rely on a VPN to bypass blackouts, territory restrictions, or licensing rules. A VPN may also conflict with a service’s terms or prevent the platform from correctly determining your location. The reliable approach is to check the official MLB territory and game-availability information, then use a service authorized for your location.
What if you want to watch a replay?
MLB says postseason game archives are available on demand after the live game. Its general help documentation specifies that applicable archives become available about 90 minutes after the game concludes. If a replay does not appear immediately, wait for the archive-processing period and check the game page again.
What you should confirm before October
- Your market: U.S., Canada, or another international territory.
- Your access route: MLB.TV authentication, a live-TV service carrying local FOX, an antenna, or an international MLB.TV subscription.
- Your provider: Confirm that the pay-TV provider is currently listed for the relevant authentication path.
- Your local FOX affiliate: Required when using a live-TV streaming service or antenna.
- Your device: Test the MLB.TV app or streaming service on the television, phone, browser, or streaming device you will use.
- Your schedule: Recheck MLB’s postseason calendar for start times, venue assignments, and any schedule changes.
- Your subscription terms: Pricing and package conditions may change before the 2026 World Series.
Optional watch-party gear
Streaming access does not require baseball merchandise, but fans planning a watch party may want a World Series baseball cap, team apparel, a commemorative baseball, or a display piece. MLB Shop currently offers World Series hats, apparel, commemorative baseballs, and related licensed merchandise. A 2026 champion-specific cap cannot be available until the championship is decided, so look for current team or league merchandise before then and championship items afterward.

The Bottom Line

International viewers outside Canada should check MLB.TV’s territory availability; Canadian viewers need to verify a separate local rights option. Recheck the schedule, provider coverage, and pricing before the series begins because those details can change.
