At the time, U.S. viewers could watch the game free online through Tubi or free over the air with an antenna tuned to their local Fox affiliate. The Fox/Tubi feed included Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, featuring SZA. For viewing now, the most direct free option is the NFL’s official YouTube replay of the complete halftime show.
The best free options for Super Bowl LIX
When the game aired, the two genuinely free legal choices in the United States were:
- Tubi: Fox’s free, ad-supported streaming service carried the live Fox broadcast, including the game, commercials and halftime show. A Tubi account or sign-in could be required depending on the device and access path.
- An antenna: Viewers with suitable reception could tune in to their local Fox station without an internet connection or monthly subscription.
The game was the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The NFL’s game summary confirms the event date and matchup.
How the free Tubi stream worked
Tubi was the easiest online option for viewers in the U.S. It was notable because Super Bowl LIX was the first Super Bowl streamed live on Tubi through Fox. No cable package, paid live-TV subscription or NFL Sunday Ticket subscription was needed.

- Open the official Tubi website or Tubi app.
- Create an account or sign in if prompted.
- Open the live guide or search for the Super Bowl event tile.
- Confirm that the listing is the live Fox broadcast rather than a highlight program or unrelated on-demand title.
- Start the feed before kickoff and leave it running through halftime.
Tubi’s free service is ad-supported, so commercial breaks were part of the viewing experience. Availability could vary by location, device and territory; the 2025 arrangement should not be treated as a worldwide or permanently available live feed.
If the game did not appear, possible causes included an event tile that had not gone live, an outdated app, an unsupported device, a regional restriction or a temporary service problem. Trying Tubi in a desktop browser, signing out and back in, updating or reinstalling the app, and checking the live guide were reasonable first steps.
Watch free with an antenna and local Fox
A television antenna was the most independent option. Connect an indoor, attic or outdoor antenna to the TV, run a channel scan and locate the local Fox affiliate. There was no streaming account, internet service or recurring fee once the equipment was available.

- Easy to Install: Plug the coaxial cable from your digital indoor HDTV antenna into the ANT/IN connector on the back of your TV, point the TV antenna toward your local TV tower and scan for channels. (Check "dtv gov maps" for available channels).
This option depended on reception rather than subscription status. Distance from the transmitter, terrain, building materials, antenna placement and local affiliate coverage could all affect the result. Test the station before game day. If the picture broke up, reposition the antenna near a window or higher location, rescan the channels, or consider an attic or outdoor antenna.

If the TV found no Fox station, the household might be outside reliable coverage, the scan may have been incomplete, or the local affiliate may use a different channel number than expected. Repositioning and rescanning can help; otherwise, Tubi or a viewing venue was the practical backup.
How to watch Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show
During the live broadcast
The halftime performance was included in the same Fox broadcast carried by Tubi and local Fox stations. It was not a separate live stream that required an Apple Music subscription. Apple Music was the show’s sponsor, not the exclusive live provider.

Kendrick Lamar headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, with SZA as a guest performer. The performance occurred roughly midway through the game, but its exact start time could shift because of game length, timeouts, reviews, injuries and other broadcast variables. Anyone watching only for halftime needed to open the game feed early rather than rely on a precise predicted time.
After the event
The live broadcast has ended. The most direct free replay located for the performance is the complete halftime-show video on the NFL’s official YouTube channel. This is the appropriate option for someone who wants Kendrick Lamar’s performance now; do not expect Tubi to provide the 2025 live event as an active stream.
Kickoff time and pregame coverage
Scheduled kickoff was:
- 6:30 p.m. Eastern
- 5:30 p.m. Central
- 4:30 p.m. Mountain
- 3:30 p.m. Pacific
Pregame programming began earlier. The NFL’s YouTube Tailgate Concert, headlined by Post Malone, was livestreamed on the NFL’s YouTube channel.

Free trials were a fallback, not the clearest free answer
Services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and DirecTV Stream were listed among paid live-TV options carrying Fox in relevant markets. A free trial could have worked, but it was not equivalent to Tubi or an antenna.
Before starting a trial:
- Enter your ZIP code and confirm that the service carries your local Fox affiliate.
- Check eligibility, because previous subscribers may not qualify.
- Record the exact trial end date and the price after the trial.
- Set a cancellation reminder and check whether cancellation ends access immediately or at the end of the trial.
- Review whether payment information is required.
Promotions, prices, trial lengths and local-channel availability change. Do not reuse a later promotional price as though it were the price offered for Super Bowl LIX. For a single game, paying for a live-TV service was generally unnecessary.

Avoid websites promising an “NFL free stream,” pirated IPTV services, social-media accounts offering full-game links, and browser pop-ups demanding card details or suspicious app downloads. These sources can expose viewers to malware, phishing, invasive advertising, unstable feeds and sudden takedowns, with possible legal or account consequences.

VPN workarounds can also violate a service’s terms or misrepresent a viewer’s location. They are not a dependable substitute for an authorized U.S. broadcast. NFL Sunday Ticket was unnecessary for this game because the Super Bowl was nationally broadcast on Fox; Sunday Ticket is intended primarily for out-of-market Sunday games.
Quick troubleshooting guide
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Tubi does not show the event | Check the live guide, sign in, update the app, try a desktop browser, or switch to local Fox with an antenna. |
| The stream buffers | Restart the app and streaming device, stop downloads and other streams, use Ethernet where possible, lower video quality if available, or switch to an antenna. |
| The antenna picture breaks up | Move the antenna near a window or higher location, rescan channels, and consider attic or outdoor placement. |
| No Fox station appears | Confirm local affiliate availability, reposition the antenna and rescan. If reception remains inadequate, use Tubi or another authorized option. |
| You want only halftime | For the live event, open the game feed early. For viewing now, use the NFL’s official YouTube replay. |
Availability outside the United States
The Tubi and Fox instructions above were U.S.-focused. Streaming and broadcast rights differed by country, so viewers elsewhere needed to check their country’s authorized broadcaster rather than assume that Tubi was available.
Bottom line for historical viewing
For Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, Tubi was the best free online option in the U.S., while an antenna and local Fox were the best no-internet alternative. Both carried Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s halftime show as part of the game broadcast. Today, the live game has passed; use the official NFL halftime-show replay instead.
