The 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby was held on July 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. ESPN carried the main event and ESPN2 carried the alternate Statcast Edition. The live broadcast is over, but this guide explains the legitimate no-cable options that were available and how to check for an official replay now.
The 2025 Home Run Derby was a past ESPN event
The 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby took place on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. Eastern from Truist Park in Atlanta. ESPN carried the main broadcast, while ESPN2 carried the alternate T-Mobile Home Run Derby: Statcast Edition Powered by Google Cloud.
That means there is no longer a live event to stream. At the time, viewers without cable needed either a live-TV streaming service that included ESPN or an eligible TV-provider login for the ESPN app. If you are looking for a replay now, check the official ESPN and MLB video libraries, but do not assume that an archived listing guarantees free, complete playback without authentication.
Where the 2025 Home Run Derby aired
| Presentation | Channel | Start time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main broadcast | ESPN | 8 p.m. ET, July 14, 2025 | Traditional play-by-play coverage |
| Statcast Edition | ESPN2 | 8 p.m. ET, July 14, 2025 | Launch angle, exit velocity, tracking data and analytics |
| National radio | ESPN Radio | Concurrent coverage | Audio-only listening |
The event was not a FOX broadcast. The authoritative 2025 announcements identified ESPN and ESPN2 as the television outlets. A standalone MLB.TV subscription should not be treated as a confirmed way to unlock the national Derby broadcast.

How cord-cutters could have watched it
These were the principal no-cable options identified for the 2025 broadcast. Because the event has ended, any prices, free trials or introductory discounts reported in July 2025 are historical and should not be carried forward as current offers.
Fubo
Fubo was a strong option for viewers who wanted a conventional live-TV replacement. Contemporary viewing coverage listed Fubo for the Derby, and Fubo’s channel information identified ESPN and ESPN2 among its live networks.
For a future ESPN event, check the current Fubo channel lineup for your ZIP code and confirm that the plan you select includes both ESPN networks. Plan names, pricing, trials and regional availability can change. The relevant route would have been to watch ESPN on Fubo, then use Fubo’s own apps or authenticate the ESPN app with the subscription if supported.
DIRECTV
DIRECTV was also listed as a streaming option for the 2025 Derby. Its support information explains that eligible customers can sign in to the ESPN app with DIRECTV credentials when their package includes the applicable ESPN channels.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThat makes DIRECTV useful for viewers who want a broader live-TV package rather than a sports-only solution. However, the promotional trial and pricing reported around July 14, 2025 have expired. Anyone considering DIRECTV streaming ESPN for a later event should verify the current package, ESPN access and any regional restrictions before subscribing.
Sling Orange
Sling Orange was the most direct budget-oriented choice among the services identified in the contemporaneous guides. Sling’s official Orange information includes ESPN and ESPN2, the two channels that carried the Derby.

For a future event, check the current price and promotional terms rather than relying on an old introductory rate. If the current lineup remains suitable, Sling Orange is the plan to examine when the priority is ESPN access without paying for a larger entertainment bundle. Sling’s terms, supported devices and local-channel arrangements should still be checked before purchase.
Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV was another listed route to ESPN without a cable subscription. Hulu’s live-TV service includes live ESPN programming, although its own terms note that channel availability and programming may vary by region.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →This option makes the most sense for someone who wants ESPN alongside a broader entertainment package. Verify that the current Hulu + Live TV plan carries the required ESPN channel in your location before assuming it will work for a particular event.
YouTube TV
YouTube TV was identified in 2025 viewing coverage as an ESPN-carrying option. Because sports-network carriage agreements can change, it is safer to regard YouTube TV as a historical way to watch the 2025 Derby, not as a permanent guarantee of ESPN availability.
For a future broadcast, search the current YouTube TV lineup and confirm ESPN carriage, pricing, trial eligibility and any location-based limitations. The useful comparison point is YouTube TV ESPN access, not the promotional terms that may have appeared in older articles.
Did ESPN+ include the Home Run Derby?
Do not confuse the ESPN app with ESPN+. The ESPN app is the viewing interface; access to a live linear ESPN or ESPN2 broadcast generally requires authentication through an eligible participating TV provider.

ESPN’s app guidance explains that viewers can sign in with a TV-provider account to enable live-game viewing. Roku’s support documentation likewise describes ESPN as an authenticated TV Everywhere app for subscribers whose package includes the channel.
The available 2025 evidence identifies ESPN and ESPN2 as the broadcast platforms and points cord-cutters toward live-TV services carrying those networks. It does not establish that a standalone ESPN+ subscription by itself unlocked the complete 2025 Home Run Derby. Do not purchase ESPN+ solely on that assumption unless the current event listing specifically confirms the distribution.
What devices could stream the broadcast?
The ESPN app supports common platforms including:
- Amazon Fire TV
- Roku
- Apple TV
- Chromecast
- PlayStation and Xbox
- Android TV
- Samsung and LG smart TVs
- Supported web browsers and mobile devices
A television without a built-in ESPN app could use an Amazon Fire TV Stick or a Roku streaming player. These devices only provide a way to install and run the ESPN app or a live-TV service. They do not include the Derby, supply an ESPN subscription, or bypass the provider-login requirement.
How the streaming process worked
- Choose a provider. Select a service that explicitly includes ESPN. For the Statcast Edition, confirm that it also includes ESPN2.
- Check availability. Review the provider’s current channel lineup, location requirements, plan price and trial terms. Do not rely on a July 2025 deal.
- Install the app. Add the provider’s app to your smart TV, streaming player, game console, phone or browser.
- Sign in. Use the subscription account for the live-TV service. If watching through the ESPN app, choose the TV-provider sign-in option and authenticate with the eligible account.
- Find the channel. Open ESPN for the primary presentation or ESPN2 for the Statcast Edition. A provider’s electronic program guide may list the event under the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.
Common problems and what they mean
The ESPN app asks for a TV provider
This normally means the app is not recognizing a qualifying subscription. A streaming device by itself is not authentication. Return to the provider-login option, select the exact service used for ESPN access, and sign in with that account.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
ESPN is available but ESPN2 is missing
Some plans may carry one network but not the other. Check the package details before subscribing if the Statcast Edition is the reason you are watching.
A free trial or price in an old article does not appear
That promotion was likely temporary. Streaming services change trial eligibility, introductory pricing and plan structures. Use the provider’s current sign-up page and read the cancellation and billing terms.

The replay page is visible but playback is blocked
An ESPN listing for the 2025 Statcast Edition does not prove that the complete broadcast remains freely available. Playback may require an ESPN login, a participating TV provider, a particular region or may no longer be offered. Check official ESPN or MLB video pages for available replays, highlights and condensed coverage.
What to watch now
Since the 2025 Derby has already occurred, the practical next step is to search the official ESPN and MLB video libraries for a replay, highlights or a condensed version. Availability can change and may differ by country. If you are preparing for a future Home Run Derby, confirm the broadcaster first; do not automatically apply the 2025 ESPN arrangement to a later year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Was the 2025 Home Run Derby on FOX?
No. The 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby was broadcast on ESPN, not FOX. ESPN2 carried the alternate Statcast Edition.
Could I watch the 2025 Home Run Derby with ESPN+ alone?
Not necessarily. The ESPN app generally required an eligible TV-provider login for the linear ESPN broadcast. The available 2025 evidence does not prove that ESPN+ alone included the complete Derby.
Does a Fire TV Stick include ESPN or the Home Run Derby?
No. A Fire TV Stick or Roku player is only access hardware. You still need a qualifying live-TV subscription or authenticated ESPN credentials.
Where can I watch a replay of the 2025 Home Run Derby?
Check the official ESPN and MLB video libraries. A listing does not guarantee that a complete replay is currently free or available without authentication.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The 2025 Home Run Derby was held on July 14, 2025, and aired on ESPN, with the Statcast Edition on ESPN2. At the time, cord-cutters could use an ESPN-carrying live-TV service such as Fubo, DIRECTV, Sling Orange, Hulu + Live TV or YouTube TV, or authenticate the ESPN app with an eligible provider account. The event is now over, and current replay access, prices and trials must be verified rather than assumed.
