Super Bowl LX is over
The game took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8, 2026. Kickoff was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. CT, 4:30 p.m. MT, and 3:30 p.m. PT). The original last-minute Sunday access question applied before that date, not now. The NFL game-day guide lists the event date and kickoff time.

This is therefore an archive of the legitimate viewing options available for the live broadcast, not a promise that a live stream or replay remains available. For current NFL viewing destinations, check the NFL’s official ways-to-watch page.
What was actually free?
- Free over-the-air TV: A viewer with a compatible antenna and adequate reception could watch a local NBC or Telemundo affiliate without a cable or streaming subscription. Reception depended on location and signal conditions.
- Online streaming: Peacock was an official streaming destination, but access generally required a subscription or qualifying promotion. A free online stream should not have been assumed.
- Other streaming services: Live-TV services could carry a local NBC affiliate in some areas, subject to ZIP-code availability and plan terms. NFL+ had plan, device, and geographic limits; it was not a universal free replacement.
CBS News’ viewing guide distinguished the free broadcast option from paid Peacock access. NBCUniversal listed NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, and Universo among the event’s U.S. outlets in its Super Bowl LX coverage information.

How the free antenna option worked
An antenna receives local broadcast television directly; it does not need internet service. A successful setup still depended on receiving the local station’s signal. Distance, terrain, buildings, interference, antenna placement, and cable runs can all affect reception, so an antenna cannot guarantee a picture at every address.
- Connect a digital antenna to a television with a compatible tuner.
- Open the TV’s channel setup or auto-scan menu and scan for channels.
- Find the local NBC or Telemundo affiliate and check that its signal is stable.
- If reception is weak, reposition the antenna near a window or higher location, then scan again. Try a different orientation and remove unnecessary splitters or long cable runs.
Check local station coverage before buying equipment. The FCC DTV reception map can help identify stations and estimated reception in an area, but a map is not a guarantee of indoor reception. An amplifier may help in some setups; it cannot restore a signal blocked by terrain or unavailable at the location.
What online options required
Peacock
Peacock was the official internet destination for NBC’s coverage, but a subscription or qualifying offer was generally needed. Plans, promotions, eligibility, and renewal terms can change, so an old event guide cannot establish what is available today. Check the official Peacock site for current terms. For a past event, do not assume that a live-event listing means a full replay is available.
Live-TV streaming services
Services such as YouTube TV, Fubo, or DIRECTV streaming could be alternatives for viewers who already wanted a broader live-TV package. Local NBC availability varied by market, and pricing or trial eligibility could change. A subscription to a provider did not by itself guarantee access to the viewer’s local NBC affiliate.
- Enter your ZIP code on the provider’s official site and confirm that your local NBC station is included.
- Check the plan’s channel lineup and any trial eligibility, payment requirements, renewal price, and billing date.
- Test the NBC stream on the intended device before relying on it.
- If signing up temporarily, note the cancellation deadline and confirm cancellation in the account’s billing settings.
These services make more sense for households that want ongoing live channels than for someone seeking one game. Trial offers should be verified directly with the provider; they may require payment information, have eligibility limits, or renew automatically.

NFL+
NFL+ should not be treated as a free, full-screen stream for every viewer. The NFL’s event-specific guidance described access according to plan, device, and location; it identified NFL+ as available in the United States but not U.S. territories and noted mobile limitations for specified live playoff coverage. Confirm whether the relevant plan includes the particular event and device before subscribing in the NFL’s Super Bowl LX viewing guidance.

NBC carried the English-language U.S. television broadcast. Telemundo and Universo offered Spanish-language coverage. Channel numbers depended on the local market. NBCUniversal said its coverage began at noon ET, with a five-hour pregame show starting at 1 p.m. ET; kickoff itself was at 6:30 p.m. ET. Travelers and viewers outside the U.S.
U.S. NBC and Peacock access should not be assumed to work everywhere. Local broadcast rights, location checks, and provider agreements vary. NFL+’s cited guidance excluded U.S. territories, while international viewers needed to consult the NFL’s country-specific viewing information. Traveling viewers could also encounter a different local affiliate or service restrictions; a VPN may cause location errors or conflict with a provider’s terms.

- Black screen or loading loop: Restart the app and device, then check the service’s status.
- NBC missing from a streaming lineup: Recheck local affiliate availability for the ZIP code; national service access does not guarantee every local station.
- Location error: Turn off a VPN or proxy and verify the account’s location settings.
- Low picture quality: Try a wired connection or stronger Wi-Fi and reduce other network use.
- App unavailable on a television: Test a supported streaming device, browser, phone, or tablet instead.
- A trial billed unexpectedly: Check the provider’s billing page and cancellation confirmation. Deleting an app does not cancel a subscription.
Avoid fake free streams
Use broadcaster, league, or verified provider destinations rather than search-result pages promising an unauthorized free feed. Unofficial stream pages can expose viewers to fake play buttons, deceptive notifications, phishing forms, unstable video, and copyright infringement. Do not enter account passwords or payment details on an unverified streaming page.
