- Follows Maxine, who was the only survivor of the bloody incidents of X, as she continues her journey towards fame to be an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
If Hulu is already part of your household’s subscriptions, streaming there is the cheapest route for this film. JustWatch listed no free streaming option on the date checked.
Is MaXXXine on Max?
Max was the film’s announced streaming home in 2024: Warner Bros. Discovery said it would begin streaming exclusively on Max on October 18 of that year. That is release history, not confirmation of current availability. The U.S. listing checked for this article points to Hulu rather than Max, so check Max directly if you want to confirm its live catalog.

- Follows Maxine, who was the only survivor of the bloody incidents of X, as she continues her journey towards fame to be an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
The dated announcement is available from Warner Bros. Discovery. Streaming rights and catalogs can change, and a past exclusive window does not establish where a film is available now.
Where to rent or buy MaXXXine digitally
U.S. digital storefronts identified for rental or purchase include Amazon Video, Apple TV, Fandango At Home and Google Play. A24’s official film page links to authorized viewing and retail destinations. Google Play listed a $4.99 rental and a $19.99 4K purchase; other stores may show different prices or resolutions.

- Rent: A one-time option that is usually the lowest upfront cost if you want to watch once. The rental period and how long you have to start playback depend on the storefront; check its checkout terms.
- Buy digitally: Costs more up front but avoids a recurring subscription and can suit repeat viewing. “Buy” generally means access through the retailer account under its service terms, not a transferable, DRM-free file.
4K or HDR playback depends on the specific store listing, title edition, device and display. Apple’s U.S. listing includes format and accessibility details, but features should be checked on the service and setup you will use.
DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD editions

Contemporary home-video coverage listed suggested retail prices at release of $42.99 for a 4K UHD/Blu-ray/digital edition and $39.99 for Blu-ray/DVD/digital editions, including a Walmart exclusive. Those were launch suggested prices, not current prices. Packaging, bonus features and any digital redemption terms vary by edition, so check the product page before ordering. A 4K UHD disc requires a compatible player and display.

What to know before watching
MaXXXine is a 2024 horror/crime thriller written and directed by Ti West. It runs 103 minutes and is rated R in the United States for strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use. The film follows Maxine Minx as she pursues stardom in 1980s Hollywood while a killer stalks actresses and threatens to expose her past. A24 lists Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon among the cast; see the official film page.
It concludes Ti West and Mia Goth’s X trilogy. You can watch it on its own, but seeing X and Pearl first gives more context for Maxine, the character connections and the trilogy’s recurring themes.
