Boston Dynamics’ robot dogs energized the America’s Got Talent stage with synchronized choreography—but no, they did not set it on literal fire. In their Season 20 audition, five four-legged robots performed to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.” They later returned with a different routine, so the song and clip matter when identifying the performance.
Watch the original robot-dog audition
The official audition clip shows five Boston Dynamics robots moving in formation to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.” The episode aired on June 10, 2025; AGT published the clip the following day, June 11. Watch the official audition video on YouTube, or visit the AGT Season 20 listing.
What made the routine stand out?
The appeal was the contrast: machines with a familiar four-legged, dog-like silhouette took over a talent-show stage and moved together in time with a pop song. Their synchronized choreography made the performance readable as entertainment even for viewers without a robotics background. Calling it a dance is useful shorthand; what viewers saw was choreographed robot movement, not evidence of human-like improvisation.
AGT described the audition as making show history and said the judges were in awe. Those are the program’s characterizations, rather than a separately defined record or a technical assessment. The available AGT material identifies the robots as Boston Dynamics machines but does not name an exact model.

The robots returned with a different song
The audition was not the robots’ only Season 20 appearance. In a later live-show performance published August 26, 2025, they danced to “Good Vibrations.” AGT’s official description says the routine included bringing a “dead” robot back to life before a new synchronized dance. Watch the official “Good Vibrations” performance.
That return is a separate clip and routine from the Queen audition. A recap by Entertainment Now reported mixed judge reactions to the later performance: Mel B criticized the choreography, Simon Cowell pressed his X, while Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara praised the technology and entertainment value. Those reactions should not be confused with AGT’s promotional description of the audition.

What the clips do—and do not—establish
- Literal fire: The “set the stage on fire” wording is figurative; the cited AGT material describes a dance performance, not a fire.
- Audition song: “Don’t Stop Me Now,” performed by five robots.
- Later song: “Good Vibrations,” in a separate live-show routine.
- Competition result: These sources establish the appearances, but not a final placement or win. A later performance alone does not prove the act won, reached the finale, received a Golden Buzzer, or was eliminated.
