The 2025 edition of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest aired live on ABC on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The special was scheduled to stream on Hulu the next day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Because the live broadcast has already passed and streaming catalogs change, current access to the full replay is not guaranteed.
The date matters: “2025” was the year being welcomed
The title can be confusing. The “2025” edition was not broadcast on December 31, 2025. It welcomed 2025 and aired on December 31, 2024, leading into New Year’s Day.
The original schedule was:
- Date: Tuesday, December 31, 2024
- Start time: 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- Television network: ABC
- Replay destination announced for the event: Hulu on Wednesday, January 1, 2025
How viewers watched the 2025 edition
1. ABC for the live television broadcast
ABC was the primary way to watch the special live. Viewers could use an antenna, a cable or satellite provider, or a live-TV streaming service carrying their local ABC affiliate.
Local-channel coverage is not identical everywhere. Before subscribing to a live-TV service, enter your ZIP code on the provider’s coverage checker and confirm that it carries the ABC station serving your area. Hulu’s own live-TV information makes the same distinction: ABC may be included in the lineup, but local affiliate availability depends on location.

If you are looking for the original live broadcast now, that opportunity ended when the program aired on December 31, 2024. ABC’s live-stream and schedule pages are useful for checking current programming and future broadcasts, but they should not be treated as proof that the 2025 special remains available as a free on-demand replay.
2. Hulu for the announced next-day replay
The event announcement said the special would be available on Hulu the following day, January 1, 2025. That was the announced replay route immediately after the broadcast.
However, a next-day streaming announcement is not a promise of permanent availability. Hulu’s catalog changes, and the currently surfaced ABC pages focus primarily on newer editions rather than clearly confirming a complete 2025 replay. If you want to watch the special now, search directly within Hulu for the full program and verify that the listing includes the edition welcoming 2025.

Do not assume that every Hulu subscription provides live local ABC. Hulu on-demand access and Hulu + Live TV are different products. Live ABC access, where offered, requires the applicable live-TV plan and remains subject to local affiliate availability. For future broadcasts, compare live TV with local ABC options by ZIP code before signing up.

3. iHeartRadio for audio coverage
The 2025 event was also carried live on 150 iHeartRadio stations nationwide and streamed in the iHeartRadio app. This was an audio alternative, not a television stream: it could provide the program’s music and countdown coverage but could not show the televised performances, Times Square visuals, or ball drop.
Who hosted the 2025 New Year’s Rockin’ Eve?
Ryan Seacrest hosted from Times Square, with Rita Ora as co-host. Dayanara Torres returned as a co-host from Puerto Rico. The broadcast combined the Times Square countdown with performances and reports from additional locations.

The announced lineup included Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz, TLC, Blake Shelton, Kesha, Laufey, T-Pain, Teddy Swims, Tinashe, Luis Fonsi, Natasha Bedingfield, and other performers. The lineup can help distinguish this edition from newer Rockin’ Eve broadcasts, but it does not mean that every performance remains separately available in full.
If you want to watch a future ABC broadcast without cable
Although the 2025 edition is over, the same practical options apply to a future New Year’s Eve broadcast.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsOption A: Use an antenna for local ABC
An indoor TV antenna may receive your local ABC station without a monthly television subscription. This is often the lowest-cost route, but it is not guaranteed to work in every home.
Reception depends on factors including:
- Distance from the local broadcast towers
- Terrain and nearby buildings
- Building materials, especially concrete and metal
- Whether the antenna is placed near a window or higher in the building
- The antenna’s actual reception capability rather than its advertised range
Check your local stations and signal conditions before buying. A signal map such as AntennaWeb can help identify whether ABC is likely to be receivable at your address. If you buy hardware, check the retailer’s return policy because an antenna that works well in one neighborhood may perform poorly a few miles away.

- Real 8K HDMI certified cable: The HDMI cables pass HDMI 2.1 Certified. The HDMI Cable delivers 10K 8K@60Hz and 4K@240Hz higher resolution, 4 times higher than 4K@60Hz. The advanced technology makes a remarkable improvement in image clarity and sharpness
- 48Gbps ultra high speed: The HDMI 2.1 Cable with 48Gbps bandwidth delivers uncompressed 8K(7680 x 4320) video and high-speed transmission without signal loss. Make it faster 2.6X than HDMI 2.0(18Gbps). The 4K@240Hz HDMI cord also supports variable refresh rates and QFT to decrease “display latency”. Auto low latency mode and quick media switching for movies and video use the HDMI VRR mechanism to eliminate the blackout period when an HDMI Source device switches its video mode
- Dynamic HDR & eARC: This HDMI Cable features Dynamic HDR to let you capture more details with 12-bit color accuracy and get breathtakingly realistic pictures. The function of eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) directly delivers full-resolution audio, like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X from TV to soundbar/AV receiver. Also Support HDCP 2.3/2.2, Ethernet, 3D
- Enhanced durability: Built with a robust aluminum alloy case, nickel-plated connectors, and a durable nylon braided jacket, HDMI cables can withstand more frequent bending tests and decrease rupture without reducing cable flexibility, ensuring enhanced signal transmission performance and a longer lifespan
- Wide compatibility: Compatible with Apple TV/PS5/PS4 Pro/Roku Stick, Xbox Series X/S/Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, Wii U, Mac mini M4/M4 Pro, Laptop, PC, Blu-ray player, AV Receiver, TV stick, TV Box, DVD player, LG 8K UHD TV, Samsung G8/G9 QLED TV, Soundbar, Projector, Monitor and more
Option B: Use a live-TV streaming service
Live-TV streaming services can provide ABC over the internet when they carry the local affiliate in your market. This is more convenient than installing an antenna, but it usually costs more and may involve local-channel, regional, device, or plan restrictions.
Before subscribing, confirm all three points:
- The service carries ABC, not merely national cable networks.
- It carries your specific local ABC affiliate.
- Your intended television, phone, browser, or streaming device is supported.
For a future edition, the most reliable workflow is to check ABC’s schedule, then verify the local affiliate through the provider’s ZIP-code lookup shortly before New Year’s Eve. A service may change its local-channel lineup after you sign up.
What not to assume about the 2025 replay
- Do not assume it is currently free on ABC.com. An ABC live-stream page does not establish that an older special is available on demand.
- Do not assume every Hulu plan includes it. On-demand Hulu and Hulu + Live TV have different access rules.
- Do not confuse the editions. The 2025 edition aired on December 31, 2024; the edition welcoming 2026 aired on December 31, 2025.
- Do not assume every performance is available separately. A performer’s appearance in the broadcast does not guarantee a full, officially posted replay.
Quick decision guide

| A future ABC New Year’s Eve broadcast for free | A properly positioned antenna | Reception varies by address |
| A future ABC broadcast over the internet | A live-TV streaming service carrying your local ABC affiliate | Verify availability by ZIP code |
