The closing angle saw CM Punk hit Rollins with a GTS, while Jey Uso’s feud with Gunther, Becky Lynch’s rivalry with Lyra Valkyria, Liv Morgan’s return and a new Sheamus–Rusev confrontation advanced several other stories.
This is a retrospective recap, so the results and major angles are spoilers.

Penta defeats Chad Gable and Dragon Lee
Penta won the first Money in the Bank qualifying match of the night against Chad Gable and Dragon Lee. The match also involved El Hijo del Vikingo, who was seated at ringside ahead of his scheduled match with Gable at Worlds Collide.
Dragon Lee created a chaotic opening by diving over the announce table. Gable then attacked Vikingo, prompting Vikingo to retaliate later in the bout by kicking Gable from the top rope. Penta took advantage of the opening and hit Gable with the Penta Driver to secure the victory and qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The official WWE results list Penta as the winner.
Rusev defeats Akira Tozawa, then confronts Sheamus
Akira Tozawa tried to stand up to Rusev after Rusev had attacked Tozawa’s Alpha Academy teammate Otis. The attempt did not last long: Rusev defeated Tozawa by applying the Accolade.

Sheamus came to the ring, forcing Rusev to break off and creating a faceoff between the two wrestlers. Sheamus–Rusev was a confrontation rather than a second match on this episode, but it clearly established a new rivalry direction.
The New Day retains the World Tag Team Championship
The New Day retained the World Tag Team Championship against Julius and Brutus Creed of The Creed Brothers and Erik and Ivar of The War Raiders in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
The finish was not clean. According to WWE’s recap, The New Day manipulated The Creed Brothers into thinking they were temporarily cooperating against The War Raiders. Xavier Woods then turned on the Creeds and rolled up Julius while grabbing the tights, allowing The New Day to retain the titles. The disputed finish kept the championship story open rather than decisively settling which team was superior. WWE’s match recap details the finish.

Kairi Sane defeats Liv Morgan in Morgan’s return
The match marked Liv Morgan’s return to in-ring competition. Kairi Sane appeared ready to hit the Insane Elbow, but Roxanne Perez shoved Sane from the top rope.

At ringside, Perez then argued with Raquel Rodriguez. The distraction affected Morgan’s focus and gave Sane the opportunity to score a surprise roll-up victory. WWE identified Morgan as a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion at the time, making her return one of the episode’s notable developments even though she did not win.
Seth Rollins defeats Sami Zayn and Finn Bálor
Seth Rollins won the second Money in the Bank qualifying Triple Threat Match against Sami Zayn and Finn Bálor, but the result depended heavily on interference from Rollins’ allies.
Zayn performed a springboard moonsault onto Rollins and Bálor in an homage to Sabu. Later, Rollins hit Zayn with a Pedigree. Zayn connected with a Helluva Kick, but Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker interfered by attacking him. Jey Uso tried to fight back, only for Breakker to spear him.
Dominik Mysterio brought a steel chair to the ring to help Bálor. Rollins used the chair against Bálor and then hit him with a Stomp to win the match and qualify for Money in the Bank. The finish reinforced the power of Rollins’ faction while also tying the match to the larger Rollins–Jey Uso–CM Punk conflict.
Promos and major storyline moments
Rollins, Breakker, Reed and Paul Heyman present their vision for Raw
Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman appeared together to outline their vision of themselves as a dominant force on Raw. The segment framed the alliance as a threat to the wider roster and provided the backdrop for Rollins’ later qualifying match.
The group’s involvement was not limited to rhetoric. Reed and Breakker directly influenced the qualifier by attacking Sami Zayn, while Breakker also stopped Jey Uso from intervening. The segment therefore connected Rollins’ faction presentation to the night’s main match and to the continuing tension involving Jey Uso and CM Punk.

Jey Uso vows to make Gunther tap out again
World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso addressed his rivalry with Gunther and promised to make Gunther submit again. Gunther interrupted, keeping their title feud active after Uso’s WrestleMania victory over him.
WWE’s official video listing describes the segment as Jey Uso vowing to tap out Gunther again. It was a promo confrontation, not a championship match on this Raw.
Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch trade personal insults
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria confronted Becky Lynch in a personal verbal exchange. Valkyria told Lynch that she was no longer “The Man,” intensifying their rivalry after Lynch’s betrayal and attack on Valkyria.
This was a segment, not a May 26 title match. Their title rivalry later continued toward Backlash, where WWE separately billed Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch.
Sheamus confronts Rusev
Sheamus interrupted Rusev after Rusev refused to release the Accolade on Tozawa. The confrontation was one of the clearest new angles on the show and gave Rusev an immediate opponent after his win.
CM Punk hits Seth Rollins with a GTS
The episode’s central closing angle came after Seth Rollins qualified for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. CM Punk appeared and tricked Rollins before hitting him with a GTS.
WWE made the moment the headline of its official results coverage: “Raw results, May 26, 2025: CM Punk destroys Seth Rollins with a GTS after Rollins qualifies for Money in the Bank.” The attack ensured that Rollins’ qualification did not end the night as an uncomplicated victory and kept Punk directly involved in the faction’s growing conflict with Jey Uso.

What the episode changed on the road to Money in the Bank
Two Money in the Bank qualifiers defined the competitive structure of the episode. Penta and Seth Rollins advanced, with Rollins’ qualification coming through interference and weapon-assisted tactics rather than a clean performance.
The broader story was a collision between Rollins’ faction, Jey Uso and CM Punk. Rollins and his allies presented themselves as Raw’s dominant power, attacked Zayn and Jey, and then faced Punk’s immediate retaliation. Elsewhere, The New Day’s tights-assisted title retention left the World Tag Team Championship picture unsettled. The women’s division moved forward through Liv Morgan’s return, the Perez–Rodriguez tension and the increasingly personal Valkyria–Lynch rivalry.
