See your top songs by year or month
Current year
The current-year Replay playlist is designed to update weekly, so its order is a running ranking rather than a final year-end result. More listening can change the list.
Previous years
Replay provides playlists for earlier years when Apple has generated them for your account. Save one to your library if you want continuing access.
Monthly results
From the Replay statistics page, select an available month to see monthly top songs, artists and albums, together with listening-time information and other insights. A new or lightly used account may not show every month or the same number of ranked items.

How Apple Music decides what is “top”
Apple says Replay uses listening history, the number of plays and time spent listening. Therefore, a Replay position should not be treated as a simple table sorted only by raw play count. Apple may also show top artists, albums, playlists, genres, stations, milestones and total listening time.
Share your Replay results
- Open Replay in the Music app or on the web.
- Tap or click Share.
- Choose Messages, a social network or another available sharing method.
- For the Highlight Reel on iPhone or Android, wait for the video to finish preparing, then select Share again.
Replay playlists and individual insights can be shared separately.
Replay is missing: checks that usually fix it
Apple’s primary fix is to enable Use Listening History on every device that you use for Apple Music.

Additional checks
- Confirm that you are signed in to the Apple Account associated with the intended Apple Music subscription.
- Update your iPhone, iPad, Android device or Music app.
- Play enough music for Apple to build a profile; Apple does not publish a universal minimum number of plays or hours.
- Check both the in-app Replay section and the website.
- Make sure another device has not disabled listening history.
- Wait and check again if data is still being processed. Apple says it notifies users when Replay is ready.
Availability can vary by country or region, as Apple notes on its support page.
Can you see exact play counts?
Not as a complete play-count ranking in the standard iPhone Music app. Apple’s current iPhone guide lists sorting choices such as title, artist, date added and release date, but does not list Play Count as a normal mobile sorting option: Apple’s iPhone Music guide.

Custom library rankings on Mac or Windows
For a rule-based list, try a Smart Playlist in Music on Mac or Apple Music on Windows. Apple’s documentation confirms that Smart Playlists can update automatically from selected criteria, but the exact play-count field, column name and controls can differ by operating system and app version.
This approach ranks music in your library according to the controls available on that computer; it cannot recreate listening Apple Music never recorded.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When a third-party tracker makes sense
Consider a third-party app only if Replay’s yearly and monthly views are not detailed enough. These tools can offer custom date ranges, charts, exports or real-time tracking, but they introduce privacy, accuracy and historical-data limits.
PlayTally
PlayTally advertises real-time rankings, custom date ranges, playback history, charts, exports and personalized playlists for iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 15 or later. Its listing says it cannot reconstruct playback from before installation. The U.S. App Store page displays in-app purchase prices of $1.99, $2.99 and $4.99 (prices and structure can change), and user reviews include reports of duplicate or inflated plays. Treat its figures as the app’s own tracking, not Apple’s official Replay data.
Best Value
- Block the World, Keep the Music: Four built-in mics work together to filter out background noise — whether you're in a packed office, on a crowded commute, or moving through a busy street — so every beat comes through clean and clear. (Not available in AUX-in mode.)
- Two Ways to Hear More: BassUp technology delivers deep, punchy bass and crisp highs in wireless mode — then step it up further by plugging in the included AUX cable to unlock Hi‑Res certified audio for studio-level clarity.
- 40 Hours. 5-Minute Top-Up: With ANC on, a single charge keeps you listening through days of commutes and long-haul flights. Running low? Just 5 minutes plugged in gives you 4 more hours — so you're never stuck waiting.
- Two Devices, Zero Hassle: Stay connected to your laptop and phone at the same time. Audio switches automatically to whichever device needs you — so a call never interrupts your flow, and getting back to your playlist is just as easy. Designed for commuters and remote workers who move smoothly between work and personal listening throughout the day.
- Your Sound, Your Rules: The soundcore app puts everything at your fingertips — dials your ideal EQ with presets or build your own, flip between ANC, Normal, and Transparency modes on the fly, or wind down with built-in white noise. One app, total control.
Marvis Pro
Marvis Pro is an iPhone and iPad library companion that offers custom browsing, filtering and sorting fields including Play Count. It requires the Music app and is not Apple’s Replay analytics service. The U.S. listing showed a $9.99 in-app purchase when checked; pricing may change. It is a poor fit if you use Android or Windows or only need the official Replay playlist.
Choose the right method
| What you want | Best option | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Top songs this year | Current Replay playlist | Ranking changes during the year |
| Top songs by month | Replay statistics | Months appear only when enough data is available |
| Apple Music history’s top songs | All Time Replay playlist | Only recorded Apple Music history is represented |
| Exact or custom library ranking | Smart Playlist on Mac or Windows | Controls vary by app version and library scope |
| Arbitrary date ranges or live charts | Third-party tracker | May not include pre-installation history and can raise privacy or accuracy concerns |
Why Replay may not match your expectations
- Replay combines plays, listening history and time spent listening rather than using raw plays alone.
- You may be viewing the current-year list instead of All Time.
- Listening history may have been disabled for part of the period.
- A different Apple Account may have been used on another device.
- The playlist may not have finished updating.
