Open Facebook and choose Reels from the app’s Menu or navigation bar, then swipe vertically to browse. On a computer, select Reels in the left-hand menu. Meta renamed Facebook’s former Videos tab to Reels in June 2025, although labels and locations can still vary by account, device, country and rollout.
What Facebook Reels are
Reels are Facebook video posts that can combine video with music, audio, effects and text. Facebook is increasingly grouping its video experience under Reels, so a video you once found under Videos may now be listed under Reels. Meta’s current help information also says Reels can have different lengths and orientations rather than fitting one fixed “short video” format. Watch Reels in the Facebook mobile app
Android
- Open the Facebook app and sign in if prompted.
- Tap Menu in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Reels.
- Swipe up or down to move between videos.
- Tap the video if you need playback controls, captions or sound, then use the on-screen controls to react, comment, share or save.

iPhone
- Open Facebook.
- Tap the Reels shortcut if it appears in navigation.
- If it is not visible, tap Menu and look for Reels.
- Open a Reel and swipe up or down to continue watching.
There is no single permanent iPhone menu position: Facebook tests navigation layouts and changes them between app versions and accounts. Reels can also appear directly in your normal Feed, as described in Meta’s general guidance.

Watch Reels on a computer
- Go to Facebook in a browser and log in.
- Find Reels in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Select it and scroll through the available videos.
- Select a Reel to open its viewer and controls.
If your menu still says Videos, use that entry while the interface changes. Meta says the Videos tab was renamed Reels in June 2025, but the transition may not look identical for every account.
Find a particular Reel
Search while watching
On Android, tap the Search icon in the upper-right of the Reel viewer and search for a topic or creator. The control may be placed differently on other platforms.
Use Facebook search
Search for the creator’s name, a subject, hashtag or distinctive phrase from the caption. Recommendations and results are personalized, so searching does not guarantee that every matching Reel will appear.

Open a shared link
A Reel sent in Messenger, a Facebook post or another app may open directly. It will work only while the original content exists and your account is allowed to view it. Deleted posts, private accounts, age or location restrictions and other access limits can prevent playback.
Watch Reels that appear in your Feed
You do not need the dedicated Reels tab every time. Facebook may insert Reels into the regular Feed; selecting the video opens a Reel-style viewer or another video viewer depending on your account’s current interface.
Save a Reel and watch it later
Save while watching
- Open the Reel’s Options menu.
- Choose Save Reel or Save video.
This creates a bookmark inside Facebook, not a downloaded file on your phone. If the creator deletes the Reel or changes its visibility, the saved item may stop playing. See Meta’s saving instructions.

Find saved Reels on a computer
- From the Feed, click your name on the left to open your profile.
- Click Reels.
- Click Saved Reels.
- Select a video.
Meta lists this route at its saved-content help page.
Find saved Reels on mobile
- Tap Menu, then your name.
- Open the profile’s Videos area above Details.
- Tap Saved and select the Reel.
Depending on the app version, the profile area may be labeled Reels instead of Videos. Android-specific instructions are at Meta’s Android page. Saved and liked collections are visible only to the account holder; that privacy does not change the visibility of the original Reel.
Find Reels you liked
- Tap Menu.
- Tap your name to open your profile.
- Tap Videos (or the equivalent Reels area).
- Tap Liked, then choose the Reel.
This is the route shown in Meta’s iPhone instructions at its iPhone Help Center page. A Reel you unliked, deleted or can no longer access may not remain playable.

Hear a Reel in its original language
Some Reels offer Meta AI voice translation or dubbing. To return to the creator’s original audio:
- Open the Reel in the Facebook app.
- Tap Settings or Options.
- Choose Captions and translations. The label may instead be Translations and dubbing or Closed captions and translations.
- Turn off Voice Translations.
This control appears only when translation or dubbing is available for that Reel; it is not a universal language switch for every Facebook video. See Meta’s translation guidance.

| No Reels tab | Check the Feed, open Menu, and look for the older Videos label. Update Facebook through your device’s official app store, restart it, and try a desktop browser. |
| A Reel keeps buffering | Refresh, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, try another Reel, restart Facebook, update the app, or clear the Android app cache. |
| Video plays without sound | Tap the video and check Facebook’s mute control, your device volume and silent-mode settings. |
| A saved Reel disappeared | Check the Saved area again. The creator may have deleted it, made it private or restricted access. |
| A shared link will not open | Sign in and confirm that the original post still exists and is available to your account. |
| The layout looks different | Facebook changes labels and navigation by account, version, geography and rollout. Check both the app’s Menu and the desktop site. |
If every Reel fails after these checks, use Facebook’s in-app Help or Report a problem flow. A failure limited to one video is more likely to reflect that video’s privacy, deletion or regional availability than a problem with your device.

Can you watch Reels without an account?
You may be able to open a public Reel from a shared browser link without logging in, but Facebook can redirect you to a login page, limit playback or require an account. Anonymous viewing is therefore not guaranteed.
Save versus download
Save Reel stores a bookmark in Facebook. It does not provide a universal offline copy. The Help Center material documents saving, not one guaranteed download procedure for every Reel. Avoid third-party downloader sites unless you have assessed their privacy and security risks, and obtain permission before copying or redistributing someone else’s video.
