The current way to stream FS1 on a Roku device is through FOX One. Install FOX One from the Roku Channel Store, then connect a participating TV provider or subscribe directly if FOX One is available in your market. The former FOX Sports App is no longer the Roku app to use.
Use the FOX One app—not the former FOX Sports app—to stream FS1 on a Roku device. As of August 12, 2026, FOX says the FOX Sports App was removed from Roku and other affected connected-TV platforms on May 7, 2026. FOX One is now the connected-TV destination for FOX Sports programming, including FS1.
How to stream FS1 on Roku
- Open the Roku Channel Store. From the Roku home screen, open the streaming-channel store and choose the search option.
- Search for “FOX One.” Search for the current app name, not the former FOX Sports TV app.
- Install FOX One. Select FOX One and choose Add app, Add channel, or the equivalent installation command shown on your Roku.
- Open FOX One. Launch the app after installation.
- Choose the provider-login option. Select Connect Provider or the equivalent provider-authentication option displayed in the current version of the app.
- Complete authentication. Follow the on-screen instructions. Depending on the provider, you may be shown a code to enter on another device or be asked to sign in through your provider.
- Find FS1. After authentication, open the FOX One live-programming area or schedule and look for FS1. The channel and programs available to you depend on your provider package or FOX One plan.
Installing an app does not by itself provide access to FS1. Roku supplies the playback device; you still need an eligible TV-provider subscription or a FOX One subscription that includes the programming.
Do you need cable or satellite to watch FS1 on Roku?
No—but a participating cable, satellite, or other pay-TV provider is one way to authenticate FOX One. Two separate conditions must be met:

- Your provider must participate in FOX authentication.
- Your specific provider package must include FS1.
A successful provider login is not a guarantee that FS1 will appear. Some provider accounts can authenticate to FOX services while lacking the sports-channel entitlement required for FS1. Check your provider’s current channel lineup, then contact the provider if FS1 should be included but remains unavailable.
Can you subscribe to FOX One without cable?
FOX says viewers without a participating TV-provider login can create a FOX account and subscribe directly to FOX One, where the service and applicable plan are available in their market. In the app or on FOX’s current signup page, look for the direct-subscription route rather than Connect Provider.
Plan names, prices, trial offers, included channels, and availability can change. Confirm the current terms before subscribing. A direct FOX One subscription and provider authentication are separate access routes; you generally use one or the other.
FOX One versus the old FOX Sports app
For Roku, FOX One is the current app to look for. FOX announced that the FOX Sports App would be removed from Roku and other listed connected-TV platforms effective May 7, 2026. Instructions that tell Roku viewers to install the old FOX Sports TV app are therefore outdated for this setup.

FOX’s current device distinction also matters: FOX Sports may remain available on phones and tablets while FOX One is used on Roku and other affected connected-TV devices. An app working on a mobile device does not necessarily mean that the same app remains available on Roku.
Live-TV alternatives that may include FS1
If you want FS1 as part of a broader live-TV bundle rather than through FOX One, FOX’s 2026 viewing guidance identifies these services as options to check:

Does Roku’s sports hub stream FS1 for free?
Roku’s sports discovery features can help you browse live and upcoming games across available channels, including FOX Sports programming. They do not function as a free, standalone FS1 subscription.

You still need the applicable FOX One, TV-provider, or live-TV-service entitlement to watch the FS1 program. Selecting a game in a Roku sports interface may simply open the service or app that requires authentication.
Do you need a Roku streaming device?
If your television already has Roku built in, or you have a supported Roku player, you do not need additional hardware just to install FOX One. If the TV lacks Roku—or your existing player cannot support the current app experience—a Roku streaming stick or another current Roku player can provide the Roku interface needed to install the app.
Hardware does not include FS1, FOX One, or a live-TV subscription. It only gives you a compatible way to access the service. Check the current Roku catalog and device compatibility before buying; current product lines include devices such as the Roku Streaming Stick Plus, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and Roku Ultra, but availability and compatibility can change.
FS1 is missing on Roku: troubleshooting
FOX One does not appear in the Roku search results
- Confirm that the Roku is connected to the internet.
- Restart the Roku interface or restart the device, then search again.
- Search for FOX One exactly.
- Make sure you are not looking for the former FOX Sports TV app, which FOX says was removed from Roku on May 7, 2026.
If FOX One still does not appear, check whether your Roku software and device model support the current app experience. An older player may need a software update or replacement.

First check whether FS1 is included in your exact provider package. Your provider may allow authentication without granting access to every FOX Sports channel. If your package includes FS1, sign out and authenticate again, then contact the provider if the channel remains missing.

FOX One works on your phone but not on Roku
Mobile and connected-TV availability are not identical. FOX’s current guidance distinguishes FOX Sports access on phones and tablets from FOX One access on Roku. Install and use FOX One on the Roku rather than assuming the mobile FOX Sports app is also the correct television app.
The app freezes, fails to load, or shows an error
- Check the Roku’s internet connection and restart the Roku.
- Close and reopen FOX One.
- Sign out and repeat provider authentication.
- Check whether the problem affects only one program or all FS1 content.
- Confirm that your subscription or provider package is still active and includes FS1.
If other Roku apps work but FOX One does not, the issue may be app-specific or related to authentication. If FS1 is missing only from a particular provider account, the provider’s entitlement or channel lineup is the more likely issue.

Bottom line: On Roku, install FOX One, then either connect a participating TV provider whose package includes FS1 or subscribe directly to FOX One where available. The old FOX Sports TV app is no longer the Roku route, and Roku’s sports hub does not provide free FS1 access by itself.
