To put a Telugu music channel live, create or select an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, copy its stream URL and stream key into your streaming software, then start the encoder and confirm its preview in Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password. Before planning a continuous broadcast, also verify live-stream eligibility, test your upload connection, and make sure you hold the necessary rights to every track.
Before you set up the stream
Check channel eligibility and activation time
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. The minimum age to live stream is 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming well before the planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and getting-started guidance.
Prepare the music rights
You are responsible for having the rights needed to broadcast the music, including rights for the territories where viewers may watch. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can replace the live feed with a placeholder, and continued use can interrupt or terminate the stream. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: a rights holder may also need to allowlist your channel in Content ID. Confirm both permission and any allowlisting requirements before building a continuous playlist around a catalog. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Create the YouTube encoder stream and find its key

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open Live Control Room.

Open the Stream tab. Create a stream or select an existing one, then review its title, description, privacy, and other settings. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover this workflow.

Copy both connection values shown for the stream: the stream URL and the stream key. In your encoder, paste the URL into its server or stream URL field and the key into its stream key field. The URL identifies the destination; the key is a credential that lets YouTube accept the encoder feed. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not publish, send to viewers, or otherwise share the key.

Start streaming in the encoder. Wait for the incoming feed and preview to appear in Live Control Room before making the stream public or relying on it. With an encoder workflow, YouTube creates the watch page when the encoder starts sending content; a scheduled stream may also require selecting Go live in Live Control Room.

Where to enter the key in OBS
In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the YouTube key in the Stream Key field. If OBS asks you to connect an account or choose a YouTube event instead, follow that workflow and confirm the correct stream in Live Control Room. The stream URL and key must belong to the same YouTube stream; do not paste the key into a server or URL field.
Keep the key secure and reusable
A custom stream key can be reused, so you do not need to create a new key for every broadcast. Reuse does not mean it is safe to expose: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your stream. If you suspect the key has leaked, a channel owner or manager can reset it in YouTube Studio → Go Live → Stream → Stream key → Reset. Copy the newly generated key into the encoder right away; the old encoder configuration will not automatically use the replacement.
Plan for a 24/7 broadcast
Bandwidth and connection stability
YouTube advises that your total streaming bitrate fit within the available upload bandwidth and recommends roughly 20% headroom. That is a margin above the stream’s bitrate, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Measure the actual upload path used by the encoder, test the stream, and monitor audio and video quality. A wired Ethernet connection can be worth considering if the encoder supports it, but a cable cannot prevent an ISP or power outage. Encoder choice and protocol
YouTube accepts software and hardware encoders; choose according to your device’s ability to run continuously, its monitoring and restart options, and compatibility with your workflow. YouTube lists OBS as software that supports HLS output, but HLS is not a universal improvement: YouTube says it has higher latency than RTMP and requires specific segment settings. Use HLS only when your encoder and use case require it and you have configured those settings as described in YouTube’s HLS setup guide.
Do not assume a 24-hour replay will be archived
YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not promise automatic archiving for a single 24-hour broadcast. If retaining the full program matters, arrange local recording or consider scheduling shorter sessions, and check current Studio behavior rather than assuming one continuous stream will produce a complete replay.

YouTube currently documents a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. These platform limits matter if you intend to run redundant or parallel feeds; see Manage live stream settings for the current stream-key and stream settings guidance.

Troubleshoot common setup problems

No preview appears: Check that the encoder is running, the stream URL and key are copied into the correct fields, and the selected YouTube stream is the one you intended. Confirm the incoming feed in Live Control Room before proceeding.

The key stops working after a reset: Replace the saved key in the encoder with the newly generated one. Resetting the key does not update previously saved encoder settings.

The stream drops or quality fluctuates: Check whether the total bitrate exceeds the upload capacity or leaves too little headroom. Test the connection used by the encoder, monitor the feed, and consider wired Ethernet where supported. Network disruption can break a stream.

The music feed is interrupted or replaced: Check for a third-party content match. Confirm the relevant music rights and whether the rights holder must allowlist your channel in Content ID; licensing by itself may not stop automated interruption.

A complete replay is missing: A continuous broadcast of 12 hours or more is outside YouTube’s stated automatic-archive assurance for streams under 12 hours. Use a recording plan or shorter sessions if preserving the program is important.
