YouTube treats these as separate workflows: scheduled publishing, Premieres, and live streams. A playlist organizes videos, but YouTube’s playlist instructions do not describe scheduling the playlist to autoplay as a live broadcast.
Choose the right format for your property tours
| What you want to do | Use | What viewers experience |
|---|---|---|
| Release each prerecorded tour at a chosen date and time | Schedule each video | Each tour becomes available as a normal video at its scheduled time. |
| Gather viewers to watch one prerecorded tour together | Premiere | A scheduled communal viewing of a new video, with the creator and community able to participate in real time. |
| Broadcast a sequence of prerecorded tours as a live stream | An encoder or external playlist-streaming service | The tours play as content in an actual live broadcast; this is not the same as scheduling a YouTube playlist. |
| Arrange published tours for ongoing browsing | YouTube playlist | Viewers can browse an ordered collection; the playlist itself is not a scheduled broadcast. |
The feature distinctions are documented in YouTube’s scheduled video guidance, live stream scheduling guidance, Premiere guidance, and playlist guidance. The interface can change, so check the current Studio labels before announcing an event.
Schedule each prerecorded property tour as a normal video
Use scheduled publishing when each listing walkthrough should appear separately on a calendar. This does not create a live broadcast or automatically play the next tour as a live event.
- In YouTube Studio, upload the property tour and enter its video details.
- Open the Schedule card.
- Set the publication date, time, and time zone.
- Select Schedule. You can edit or reschedule the video later from Content.
Make the title and description unambiguous about the property and location, and confirm that visibility and any required listing or brokerage disclosures are appropriate. YouTube notes that the public watch-page date is based on Pacific Standard Time; viewers may therefore see a different calendar date from the one shown in Studio when you scheduled the video in another time zone. See YouTube’s scheduling instructions.

Use a Premiere for a scheduled group viewing
If the goal is to give one prerecorded walkthrough an event-like release, consider a Premiere. YouTube distinguishes a Premiere—viewing a new video with viewers and the creator in real time—from a live stream, which broadcasts media in real time. A Premiere is for a single video, not an automatically advancing live playlist. See YouTube’s Premiere guidance.
Create and share a property-tour playlist
A playlist is useful for organizing tours by neighborhood, property type, agent, or release series. It helps viewers browse a collection, but it does not schedule the included uploads or turn the sequence into a live broadcast.

- Enter a title and description, then choose the playlist visibility and ordering.
- Add videos from search, a URL, or your channel library, then create the playlist.
- To manage it later, go to Content > Playlists. Drag videos to adjust their order, then share the playlist with viewers.
These playlist controls are described in YouTube’s playlist instructions. They are separate from scheduled publication and the Live Control Room.
Schedule an actual YouTube Live event
For a real-time broadcast, schedule a stream in YouTube Studio. A scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can open its watch page and select Notify me. Scheduling the event does not, by itself, make a playlist of prerecorded tours play on air; that requires a connected broadcast workflow.

- For an encoder-based broadcast, connect the encoder using YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly.
YouTube’s trailer feature for a scheduled stream has separate eligibility requirements: the channel must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. YouTube lists a trailer length of 15 seconds to 3 minutes. These trailer conditions are not requirements for scheduling a live stream generally. Check YouTube’s current live scheduling guidance for the workflow and eligibility details.
Broadcast prerecorded tours in sequence
YouTube’s native playlist-management instructions do not document a feature that schedules a playlist to autoplay as a live broadcast. If you specifically need tours to play one after another within an actual YouTube Live event, investigate an external playlist-streaming workflow. For example, Restream documents creating a video playlist and scheduling it to stream to YouTube. That is a vendor-specific workflow, not a native YouTube playlist feature; check the service’s current requirements and rehearse privately before promoting the event.

Plan the release and avoid common mix-ups
- For tours released one at a time, schedule each upload; for one shared viewing, use a Premiere; for an ordered collection, make a playlist; for continuous prerecorded programming, use a broadcast workflow.
- Before promoting a scheduled event, verify its time zone, watch page, video sequence, visibility, and any needed notification or reminder settings.
- For an encoder or external service, test the complete playback privately before the public event. Do not assume reliability from the playlist setup alone.
- Use footage and audio you have the rights to use, and check that listing details and disclosures are suitable for the property and your brokerage. A playlist or live format does not change copyright obligations.
- Set a release cadence you can sustain and communicate changes. YouTube Help says, “A consistent, sustainable release schedule is critical when building and fulfilling audience expectations and maintaining your well-being.” YouTube’s scheduling advice also recommends considering spacing live events from recent uploads so viewers have time to watch and engage.
