To schedule an encoder-based YouTube live stream, open YouTube Studio and choose Create > Go live > Manage > Schedule Stream. You can later find scheduled events under Content > Live or in Live Control Room’s Manage tab. YouTube confirms that stream settings can be edited, but its published instructions do not specify a confirmed sequence for changing an existing event’s date and time. Use the event’s available controls in Studio; if you cannot find a time-edit option, do not substitute the scheduled-video workflow, which is for uploaded videos.
Schedule a YouTube live stream
YouTube supports scheduling streams made with an encoder and streams made with a webcam. The entry points differ slightly, but either route lets you set an event for later. A scheduled event can be promoted with a shareable URL, shown as upcoming, and offer viewers a reminder option.
With an encoder
- Open YouTube Studio.
- At the top right, select Create > Go live.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule Stream.
- Choose whether to reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new stream.
- Review the details and settings before saving the scheduled event. If you reused a stream, check its copied metadata and stream key as well as the other settings.
YouTube says the scheduling workflow allows you to promote the event, share its URL, and let viewers choose to receive reminders. A scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds as upcoming; viewers can choose Notify me and may receive a notification as the stream approaches.
With a webcam
YouTube also supports scheduling a webcam stream for a later date. To find upcoming webcam streams after creating them, open Studio’s Content > Live area. The documented webcam workflow and the encoder workflow are separate setup routes; neither establishes a special date-and-time editing path for an existing event.

Find an upcoming stream
- YouTube Studio: Open Content, then select the Live tab. YouTube describes this area as containing current, upcoming, and past live streams.
- Live Control Room: Open Manage to access scheduled streams.
Select the upcoming event you intend to manage, and verify that it is the right stream before making changes. If you reused settings from an older stream, take particular care not to assume its copied details are still correct.
Reschedule an existing live stream
YouTube’s official help confirms that stream settings can be edited from stream settings or while scheduling, and its getting-started guidance shows scheduled streams being selected from Manage for editing. However, the reviewed instructions do not spell out the current button-by-button process for changing an already scheduled live event’s date or time.

- Find the event in Studio > Content > Live or Live Control Room > Manage.
- Open the scheduled stream and inspect the editing controls currently shown for that event.
- If a date or time control is available, update the event and save the change. Confirm the displayed schedule afterward and share the correct event URL with viewers.
- If Studio does not offer a date or time control, consult YouTube’s current help or support for the options available to your account rather than relying on an unverified button path.
The sequence above describes where to find the event and what to verify; it does not imply that YouTube documents a particular date-and-time control in its published guidance.
Do not use the scheduled-video instructions
YouTube’s instructions for changing the publish time of a scheduled uploaded video are not a live-event rescheduling procedure. Those steps concern a video’s visibility and publishing schedule, not a scheduled live stream. The note about a video’s displayed publish date using Pacific Standard Time likewise does not establish how live-event times are edited.

When a new event may be necessary
YouTube Live Streaming API guidance says that if an API property cannot be updated, a new stream should be created with the desired settings. That is API guidance, not a general rule that every creator must recreate a scheduled event when its time changes. First check the controls available in YouTube Studio for your event.
Protect the stream key when reusing settings
Reusing a previous stream copies metadata, settings, and the stream key, according to YouTube. Review the copied information before relying on it, and change what needs to differ for the new event. A stream key works as a credential for an encoder: do not publish it or share it with people who should not be able to send video to your stream.

Troubleshoot editing and scheduling
- The stream is hard to find: Check Studio > Content > Live for upcoming items, or look under Live Control Room > Manage.
- You cannot see a date or time edit option: YouTube’s published instructions confirm editing settings but do not specify a universal date-and-time edit path. Check the event’s current controls and consult YouTube help rather than following the scheduled-video instructions.
- The event details look wrong: If you reused settings, review the copied metadata, settings, and key before the event. Update anything that should not carry over.
- The YouTube Android app does not let you edit a scheduled mobile live stream: TeamYouTube reported a specific issue affecting some creators in September 2026 and said it was fixed on September 10, 2026. If the problem continues, update the app; this dated report is not evidence of a general mobile restriction.
Or let it run in the cloud

Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
