First confirm YouTube livestream eligibility, measure sustained upload at the encoder’s location, choose settings the connection can maintain, and ask Jio whether your exact plan permits the intended continuous broadcast. Use only content you have rights to stream.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has not had a livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, encoder and console livestream workflows; an encoder is a practical fit for a stationary program that repeats a prepared prayer video and audio. YouTube’s livestream setup guidance explains the eligibility and workflow options.
- A prepared video and audio program, plus an encoder capable of sending it to YouTube. YouTube describes encoder streaming as suitable for production equipment and overlays, including microphones and cameras; it does not require a particular encoder application, computer, camera or microphone.
- A measured, stable upload connection at the location where the encoder will run. Download speed or an advertised plan label alone does not establish that the connection can sustain your chosen livestream settings.
- Permission to use all prayers, readings, music, images and video in the program.
Set up the YouTube stream and encoder
- Check eligibility. Verify the channel and confirm it has no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Use YouTube Studio’s live-streaming setup and select the encoder workflow for a prepared, stationary program.
- Create the livestream in YouTube Studio. Follow Studio’s current live-stream setup to create or schedule the event, then copy the stream key and server details it provides into your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or include it in screenshots. The exact Studio labels can change; follow the current prompts for an encoder stream.
- Configure the encoder. Send the selected prayer video and audio feed to the event using YouTube’s supported encoder connection options. The encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR). Use a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
- Choose a conservative starting quality. YouTube lists recommended H.264 ingestion bitrates of 8 Mbps for 720p at 30 or 60 fps, 14 Mbps for 1080p30 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are YouTube encoder-ingestion recommendations, not Jio upload guarantees. Run an upload speed test, then choose a quality and bitrate the connection can sustain reliably, with room for normal fluctuations. If performance varies, start at a lower resolution or bitrate rather than aiming at the highest setting.
- Test the actual program. Before relying on the stream, run the encoder with representative audio and video movement and check YouTube Studio’s stream-health messages. YouTube advises testing before going live and monitoring stream health. Test long enough to observe fluctuations at the encoder’s actual location; a brief speed test does not prove a connection will stay stable all day.
- Start and monitor the broadcast. Start the encoder, confirm Studio receives the stream and reports acceptable health, and then start the event as prompted in Studio. Check the stream and health messages after launch and periodically thereafter. YouTube’s reviewed guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation or prescribe a 24/7 redundancy architecture.
Is a Jio connection suitable for a 24/7 stream?
Only a test of the specific connection and confirmation of the exact plan’s terms can answer that for your setup. Measure upload performance where the encoder will operate and compare sustained results with the bitrate you intend to use. TRAI does not prescribe a minimum broadband upload speed; its consumer guidance says providers must state fair-usage limits and post-limit speed, and it points customers to TRAI MySpeed for speed measurement. There is also a plan-terms issue. Jio’s FAQ describes the referenced unlimited plans as for home use and warns that RJIL may discontinue data services for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorised or commercial use. That warning does not establish whether your particular prayer stream or plan counts as commercial use. Before relying on Jio for a continuous broadcast, contact Jio with the exact plan and intended use and ask for clarification. What to check with Jio
- Whether the specific plan permits your continuous YouTube broadcast and how Jio interprets its home-use and commercial-use terms for that use case.
- The provider’s stated typical upload speed, fair-usage limit and speed after any limit applies.
- Whether actual upload performance at the encoder location remains adequate over a representative test, not just during one short speed test.
Protect continuity against power or connection problems
A local encoder depends on the equipment and internet connection staying available. A UPS for the router and encoder is an optional way to address some power interruptions, but its capacity must match the equipment load; it does not guarantee an uninterrupted stream or solve an ISP outage. The official YouTube and Jio guidance cited here does not specify a required UPS size, redundancy design or uptime level.

If the stream stops
- Studio reports poor stream health or dropped frames: reduce the encoder’s resolution or bitrate, check the connection at the encoder location, and test again with the same audio and video workload.
- YouTube stops receiving the feed: check the encoder’s network connection and whether it is still sending to the correct event using the current stream details. If the connection returns, confirm in Studio that the stream is being received before assuming the event is live again.
- The router or encoder loses power: restore power and reconnect the encoder; a UPS may provide limited backup depending on its capacity and the connected load.
- Jio service or plan eligibility is unclear: contact Jio about the precise plan and use case rather than assuming that the word “unlimited” permits continuous broadcasting.
Make sure the prayer program is cleared for livestreaming
Use original or properly licensed prayers, readings, music, images and video. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may show a placeholder; if the issue persists, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted unless the rights holder adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Completed livestream archives may also receive Content ID claims. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and secure any necessary permissions before broadcasting.
