To loop one Punjabi music video in a YouTube livestream, add the authorized local file to OBS as a Media Source and turn on Loop in its properties. For several videos, use OBS’s VLC Video source, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Keep the OBS broadcast running: these settings repeat the media at the end of playback without restarting the stream.
Loop one video with an OBS Media Source
- Add the source: In the scene sent to your live output, select Sources → + → Media Source. Give it a clear name and select OK.
- Choose the file: In the Media Source properties, select Browse beside the local file field and choose your video. OBS lists formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM; check the selected file in the actual scene before going live. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
- Enable repetition: Check Loop, then select OK. OBS describes this setting as specifying whether the file plays again once playback has completed.
- Check the scene: Confirm the source is visible and fits the canvas as intended. Start the broadcast normally. When the file ends, OBS repeats it while the broadcast remains active.
These controls apply to media playback inside the scene. They do not restart the YouTube broadcast, and they do not recover a broadcast that stops sending data.
If the source is hidden
In the Media Source properties, OBS also documents Restart playback when source becomes active and Close file when inactive. If a scene change or visibility toggle hides and reactivates the source, check these options: playback may restart, and closing the file while inactive can cause a short reload delay when it becomes visible again. Keeping the source visible in the live scene avoids that extra behavior.
Loop a playlist of Punjabi music videos
For multiple files, use OBS’s VLC Video source rather than adding separate Media Sources and expecting them to behave as a playlist.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Install VLC. OBS requires VLC for this source; its guidance specifies a matching 64-bit VLC installation for 64-bit OBS.
- In the live scene, select Sources → + → VLC Video.
- Add your local video files to the source’s playlist. Use the playlist controls to arrange the order or choose shuffle, depending on how you want the videos to play.
- Enable Loop Playlist so the source starts again when it has run out of media files. Select OK and confirm the source is visible in the scene.
OBS also documents visibility behavior and network-caching settings for VLC Video. Local files and a source kept visible in the live scene are the simpler setup. The playlist setting repeats the list; it does not protect the broadcast if OBS loses its connection or YouTube ends the stream. Details are in the OBS Media Sources guide.
OBS looping is not YouTube’s viewer Loop option
| Control | What it repeats | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Media Source Loop | One local file | Playback in your OBS scene |
| VLC Video Loop Playlist | A list of media files | Playback in your OBS scene |
| YouTube Loop | A video or playlist for a viewer | YouTube’s watch screen, not an OBS broadcast source |
YouTube’s viewer-side instructions are at Loop videos or playlists on YouTube. For a local file in a live production, configure the OBS source instead.

Punjabi music videos still require streaming rights
The language or genre does not change copyright requirements. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream and a warning to the streamer; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. YouTube also says licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Use only videos for which you have the necessary rights to stream on your channel, and arrange any required Content ID allowlisting with the rights owner. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions state that the provider represents it has the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. A public YouTube upload, attribution, or possession of a local copy does not by itself grant you permission to rebroadcast the video.

If the video stops repeating or the stream ends
- The video plays once and stops: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is checked. That option repeats one file after completion.
- The playlist ends: Confirm Loop Playlist is checked in VLC Video. If VLC Video is unavailable, install VLC and ensure its architecture matches OBS; OBS specifies matching 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS.
- The source is blank or absent: Confirm the file is selected, the source is visible, and the scene containing it is the one being sent to the live output. Test playback before going live.
- Playback restarts after a scene change: Check whether Restart playback when source becomes active is enabled. Also review Close file when inactive, which can make the source take a short time to reload after being hidden.
- The YouTube broadcast disconnects or is interrupted: A loop setting only handles file or playlist completion. It is not a reconnect guarantee. Check OBS’s connection and YouTube’s live status, and follow YouTube’s guidance for copyright interruptions if third-party content may have been detected.
