YouTube does not turn an uploaded podcast into a continuous live stream by itself. To keep Kannada episodes playing on a YouTube Live channel, send them through an encoder: use OBS on a computer to loop an episode or playlist, or use a cloud playout service to run the stream without a computer at home. Before choosing, check live-stream eligibility, episode rights, and whether you need a replay archive.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible for live streaming. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours; a channel with a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days is not eligible.
- Completed podcast episodes and appropriate visuals, such as episode artwork. The artwork-and-audio format is a practical choice, not a YouTube requirement.
- Rights to use the episodes, music, clips, and visuals in a live stream on YouTube, including the territories where the stream will be available.
- An encoder such as OBS running on a computer, or a cloud playout service that explicitly supports continuous prerecorded YouTube streams.
The fact that the program is in Kannada does not change YouTube’s encoder setup. YouTube Live receives a broadcast from an encoder; uploading a regular video does not make it stream continuously.
Set up an all-day stream with OBS
1. Activate and prepare the YouTube live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and confirm the channel can go live. Complete any verification or activation steps well before the planned launch, since first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a live stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key provided there. Treat the key as private: anyone who has it may be able to send a broadcast to your stream.
- Prepare the episode file and its visual. Use material you own or have cleared for this live use; keep written permissions and records of the assets used.
2. Configure OBS to repeat an episode or playlist
- Install OBS Studio and open the scene you want to use for the broadcast. Add a visual source, such as an image of the episode artwork, and arrange it to fill the canvas.
- For one episode, add a Media Source, select the local video file, and enable Loop. OBS defines this setting as replaying the file after playback completes.
- For multiple episodes, add a VLC Video source, add the episode files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. OBS says VLC must be installed for this source to be available; the playlist setting restarts the source after it has run out of media files.
- Check that the scene includes the intended audio and that the visual remains suitable throughout playback. Test the end of an episode and the transition into the next playlist item before going live.
OBS documents the two loop options in its Media Sources guide.
3. Connect OBS to YouTube and start the broadcast
- In OBS, open Settings and then Stream. Choose YouTube as the service, then enter the stream URL and key from YouTube Live Control Room if the selected connection method asks for them.
- Start streaming in OBS. Return to Live Control Room and inspect the incoming preview. Confirm the picture and sound are correct before starting the broadcast there as directed.
- Open the public watch page and confirm that viewers can see and hear the intended program. Keep the computer and its internet connection running for as long as you want this local OBS stream to continue.
4. Describe the continuous program clearly
Make it clear in the title and description that viewers are joining a continuous playlist of podcast episodes. You can list episode names, note the playlist or schedule, and provide a channel contact or rights note where useful. These are clarity suggestions, not special YouTube requirements.

Choose between a local computer and cloud playout
| Approach | What runs the stream | Ongoing dependence | Cost and recovery |
|---|---|---|---|
| OBS on a computer | Your local episode file and OBS; OBS can loop one file or cycle a VLC playlist. | The computer, OBS, and local internet connection need to remain available for the broadcast. | OBS is open-source and no-charge according to YouTube’s encoder catalog. You handle local interruptions and restarts. |
| StreamNeo | Uploaded videos or a playlist played from StreamNeo’s cloud to YouTube. | Your computer does not need to stay on for the stream to continue. | One price per slot at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. |
| Other cloud option | YouTube’s encoder catalog lists Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming. | Cloud playout reduces reliance on a computer at home, but service behavior depends on the provider. | Check current terms, costs, upload and storage limits, restart behavior, and account-connection steps with the provider; YouTube’s listing does not establish those commercial details. |
For a Kannada podcast stream, the key trade-off is whether you prefer to manage playback and interruptions on your own computer or have a cloud service handle continuous playout. The available documentation describes both approaches; it does not establish one universal best choice.
Protect episode rights and monetization eligibility
Clear all material used in the broadcast
YouTube’s livestream terms require stream providers to have the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast; a stream may be interrupted if a match remains. If you have a license for a track or clip, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. Keep written permissions for music, clips, artwork, and other third-party assets.

Do not assume continuous playback guarantees monetization
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. They expect original, authentic content and can make repetitive or mass-produced material ineligible. Reused content is a separate channel-level issue from copyright: permission to use someone else’s material does not by itself make that material eligible for monetization. A channel broadcasting its own genuinely distinct Kannada podcast episodes has a stronger originality position than one simply repeating other creators’ material, but no particular channel’s monetization decision can be guaranteed.

Plan for replays and long-running broadcasts
YouTube says it can automatically archive streams that are under 12 hours, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving a complete replay matters, keep a local recording as a backup and consider ending and restarting broadcasts before they pass that threshold rather than relying on one very long event. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

The channel cannot go live
Check that the channel is verified, that live streaming is activated, and that it has not had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.

The broadcast has the wrong picture, missing audio, or a broken transition
Inspect the OBS scene and source settings, then preview a complete playback cycle—including the transition between playlist items—before relying on the stream. Make sure the local media files remain accessible to OBS.
The stream is interrupted after a copyright match
Identify the matched asset and verify that your rights cover live use on YouTube. If the owner has licensed the content, ask about adding your channel to the Content ID allowlist; otherwise remove or replace the material. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption.
