SEC Network+ is usually not a separate channel or subscription. To watch, use a qualifying TV or live-TV provider account in the ESPN app or at ESPN.com/watch, or subscribe to ESPN Unlimited, which ESPN currently identifies as including SEC Network+. An ESPN+ subscription by itself does not necessarily unlock an event labeled SEC Network+.
What is SEC Network+?
SEC Network+ is the digital companion to the regular SEC Network. It carries additional SEC events online rather than on the SEC Network television feed. The SEC describes it as a destination for thousands of additional digital-only events, delivered through ESPN’s app and website. The SEC’s explanation of the network has more detail.
An event marked “SEC Network+” may appear on a team or conference schedule, in the ESPN app, or on ESPN.com/watch. It may not appear as a separate channel in your cable or streaming-TV guide. The event’s label matters: SEC games and meets can air on SEC Network, SEC Network+, ESPN+, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ABC, or another service, depending on the event and rights.

ESPN’s current college-football page identifies ESPN Unlimited as including SEC Network+. ESPN’s product lineup can change, so check the current plan details before subscribing. Older advice that says every viewer must use a TV provider may be out of date, while advice to buy ESPN+ alone may not solve the problem.

How to watch with a cable, satellite or live-TV provider
If you already pay for a provider, try its login before buying another subscription. The key is that your package must include SEC Network or the relevant ESPN entitlement, and your account must be eligible for ESPN authentication. ESPN lists providers including Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, DIRECTV, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse and Cox; package availability and authentication can vary. YouTube TV also supports sign-in through participating network apps. Confirm your plan’s channels and digital access with the provider.
- Open the ESPN app on your device, or go to ESPN.com/watch.
- Choose Log In, then select the option to log in with a TV provider (wording may vary).
- Select your provider and sign in with the account tied to the eligible package. Follow any activation-code instructions shown.
- Search for the teams, sport, date or event, then choose the listing marked SEC Network+ or SECN+.
- If prompted, confirm the provider connection and start the stream.
For YouTube TV, the service’s official instructions direct subscribers to the network website or app and have them select YouTube TV when asked for a provider. In practice, that means the ESPN app or website may be the right place to watch even when the event is not listed as a distinct SEC Network+ channel in YouTube TV’s guide.
How to watch without a traditional TV provider
ESPN Unlimited: ESPN says this direct subscription tier includes SEC Network+ and other ESPN networks and services. After subscribing, sign in to the ESPN app or ESPN.com with the ESPN account used for the subscription, find the event and select its SEC Network+ stream. Verify the current plan terms and that your particular event is included before paying.

Live-TV streaming services: YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and DIRECTV may be options when the plan you choose carries SEC Network and supports the needed ESPN authentication. A service’s channel lineup, package names and prices can change, and availability may depend on your location. Check the provider’s current lineup for your ZIP code and confirm ESPN-app sign-in eligibility before subscribing. These are broader live-TV bundles, so they may cost more than makes sense for someone who only wants one occasional event.
Hulu currently advertises SEC Network as part of Hulu + Live TV. Its live-TV service is location-dependent and available in the 50 states and Washington, D.C.; local channel availability and regional restrictions apply. Watching on a TV, phone or computer
You can watch on a supported device with the ESPN app, or on a computer through ESPN.com/watch, provided your account has the necessary access. Common options include Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV or Google TV, and some Samsung and LG smart TVs; app availability varies by model and platform. You can also use a phone or tablet, and casting or AirPlay may work where supported. Check ESPN’s current app listing for your device rather than assuming every model is compatible.

Once the app is installed, sign in to ESPN itself. For provider access, connect the TV provider inside ESPN; for a direct subscription, use the ESPN account tied to that subscription. Then search for the event. The provider’s own app or channel guide may not show SEC Network+ as a standalone channel.

If SEC Network+ is missing or locked
- Check the event listing. Verify the date, start time and exact network label. An ESPN+ event, a regular SEC Network broadcast and an SEC Network+ stream can require different access.
- Confirm your package. Check that it includes SEC Network or the entitlement required for the stream. A lower-tier TV package may not qualify.
- Reconnect the right account. Sign out of ESPN and sign back in, then reconnect the provider. Make sure you selected the provider account that actually has the eligible package.
- Try another listing or search. Team schedules and ESPN search may use different event titles. Search both teams, the sport and date, or “SEC Network+.”
- Update and retry. Update the ESPN app, try ESPN.com/watch in a browser, and follow any activation page ESPN presents.
- Turn off a VPN or location-spoofing tool. Sports streams can use location and rights restrictions; a VPN can interfere with availability or authentication.
- Contact the right support team. If ESPN cannot validate your provider account, ask the provider to confirm package eligibility and ESPN access. If sign-in succeeds but the event remains locked, contact ESPN support and provide the event name and time.
If you can watch the regular SEC Network but not SEC Network+, the issue may be an expired ESPN connection, a package or digital-entitlement difference, the wrong ESPN account, or a mistaken event label. Seeing SEC Network in a provider guide does not mean SEC Network+ will appear there as its own channel.
Which route makes sense?
- Already have cable, satellite or live TV? First connect that provider in ESPN and test the event. This avoids paying for a second service if your package qualifies.
- Want a direct ESPN option? Check ESPN Unlimited’s current terms; ESPN identifies it as including SEC Network+.
- Want a full live-TV replacement? Compare YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo or DIRECTV by total monthly price, SEC Network availability in your area, and ESPN authentication support.
- Only want one game or meet? Confirm which service carries that specific event before signing up. A broad live-TV package or the wrong ESPN tier may be poor value.
Availability outside the United States
Do not assume SEC Network+ is available worldwide. Streaming rights, ESPN services and blackouts vary by country and event. If you are outside the United States, check the ESPN service for your country and the event’s local rights listing. Hulu + Live TV, in particular, is a U.S. service with location requirements and regional restrictions.
