To delete a movie or episode from Prime Video’s watch history, open Prime Video in a web browser, choose the profile that watched it, then go to Account & Settings → Watch History and remove the title. Amazon’s documented controls remove titles individually; there is no reliably documented universal “clear all” button. If you only want to remove a tile from the home screen, use the separate Continue Watching control instead.
Delete a movie or episode from Prime Video Watch History
- Open Prime Video in a desktop or mobile browser and sign in to the Amazon account you use for viewing.
- Open the profile menu and select Account & Settings.
- Choose the profile that watched the title. History belongs to a profile, so removing a title while using another profile will not affect the original entry.
- Open the Watch History tab.
- Find the movie or episode and select the removal link beside or beneath it. Depending on the wording shown, it may say Delete movie/episodes from Watch History, Delete title, or Remove this from watched videos.
- Repeat for any other titles you want to remove. If a series has several episode entries, check whether each episode remains and remove those entries individually as needed.

Remove a title from Continue Watching
If the problem is an unwanted tile on the home screen, the web interface may offer a quicker control: find the Continue Watching row, select Edit above it, select the title’s X, then choose Done. Amazon staff say the title is removed immediately and a confirmation may not appear. Amazon’s Continue Watching instructions
This is not quite the same as deleting watch history. The X removes the item from that row; Watch History deletion removes the profile’s watched-status entry and is the stronger choice if you also want to change its effect on personalization. You can use both controls if needed.

On a phone or tablet
App controls vary by device and version. If the Prime Video app shows Remove From List when you press and hold a recently played title, you can use it for that visible list. It is not a universal control for every iOS or Android release. If it is missing, use your phone or tablet’s browser and follow Account & Settings → Watch History. Check that the browser and app are signed in to the same Amazon account and profile.
On a smart TV, streaming device, or console
There is no dependable universal remote-control sequence for every Prime Video app. Confirm the active profile, then try the title’s context or Options menu for a removal choice. If the app does not offer one, use the browser-based Watch History method above, then refresh or reopen the TV app.

Can you clear all Prime Video watch history at once?
Amazon’s documented workflow is to remove movies and episodes one at a time. No reliable current documentation confirms a universal bulk-delete or “clear all” control. For a long history, you may need to repeat the removal action for each entry.

First identify where it appears. Watch History, Continue Watching, search history, recommendations, Watchlist, downloads, and ordinary browsing are different things. Work through these checks:

- Check the profile. Switch to the profile that originally watched the title. Amazon supports up to six profiles on an account, including the default profile and up to five additional adult or Kids profiles. Amazon profile help
- Check the Amazon account. A household member may have watched it under another account rather than another profile.
- Refresh the service. Reload the browser page, or force-close and reopen the app. Sign out and back in only if a refresh does not help.
- Check the list. A title can remain in Continue Watching, the Watchlist, recommendations, or search results even after its history entry is removed. Remove it from the list where it actually appears.
- Allow for app updates. A TV or streaming-device app may not have refreshed its account state yet. Reopen it after making the change in a browser.
Removing a history entry does not necessarily remove the title from Prime Video’s general browsing or search results. Amazon forum guidance on what history removal changes Live-TV and add-on-channel items may also behave differently from standard movie and episode entries.

Recommendations and privacy limits
Amazon describes Prime Video as a personalized service that uses viewing activity and other account information to help recommend content. Removing a title from Watch History can remove that watched signal, but recommendations may not change immediately, and a title may still appear in browsing or search. Watch History removal is not a comprehensive privacy erasure. It changes the visible profile-history entry; it does not establish that all Amazon-held records or third-party records have been deleted. Amazon’s Prime Video terms describe receiving information about digital-content use, including what and when users viewed, and certain non-identifiable sharing of viewing-history information with providers of add-on subscriptions unless identifiable sharing is authorized. For a separate viewing context
If several people share one profile, use separate profiles going forward so each person has a separate viewing list and personalization context. Amazon allows up to six profiles per account. A new profile does not erase the old profile’s history; manage that history separately. Where household privacy matters, use a profile PIN or lock if available in your account settings.

Does deleting watch history cancel a purchase or rental?
No. Removing a history entry does not cancel a purchase or rental. It changes the profile’s viewing record, not the title’s purchase or rental status.
Does deleting watch history remove downloads?
No. Downloads are stored separately on a device. Remove the downloaded title from the device if you want to delete the offline copy.
Does deleting history affect other profiles?
No, the history is associated with the profile you manage. Switch to the profile that watched the title before removing it.
Can I recover a title after deleting it from Watch History?
The documented removal action does not provide a restore control. If you watch the title again, it may appear in history again.
Does deleting history reset the progress bar?
It can change the title’s watched status, but the dossier does not establish a universal progress-bar result across devices and title types. Refresh the app and check the profile after removal.
