Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo show a live count of YouTube memberships on a 24/7 stream, use a third-party overlay such as Streamlabs’ Sub Goal widget. YouTube’s documented native live goals cover Super Chats and eligible gifts on vertical streams—not membership counts. Set up the widget, add it as a source in compatible streaming software, and test it in your continuous-stream setup before relying on it.
Choose what you want the goal to count
A membership goal, a Super Chat goal, and a link asking viewers to join are different things. Decide which result you want before configuring anything:
- Count memberships: Use a third-party widget that supports YouTube Members and Gifted Members, such as Streamlabs Sub Goal.
- Count Super Chats or eligible gifts: YouTube’s native Goals feature supports Super Chat goals for horizontal live streams and Premieres, and gift goals for vertical live streams where gifts are available.
- Direct viewers to join: Share your channel’s membership link. YouTube says you can add
/jointo your channel URL; this is a call to action, not a progress counter.
YouTube’s feature information lists memberships and gifted memberships as available in horizontal and vertical live formats, subject to feature eligibility. That availability does not mean the native Goals feature counts memberships. See YouTube’s Goals documentation and live-stream feature table.
Set up a YouTube membership goal with Streamlabs
Streamlabs documents a Sub Goal widget that can count YouTube Members and Gifted Members. Its setup instructions were last updated on 2025-10-02; labels and interface details may change.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Configure the goal. In Streamlabs, open the Sub Goal widget settings. Choose a title, target, starting amount, and end date.
- Select the membership events. In the platform event settings, select YouTube Members, Gifted Members, or both, depending on what you want counted.
- Customize and save. Adjust the widget’s appearance so its text and progress are legible over the video, then save the settings.
- Add the widget to your broadcast. Add it in Streamlabs Desktop, or copy its widget URL and add that URL as a browser source in compatible streaming software such as OBS Studio. YouTube describes encoders as a way to stream overlays as well as gameplay; the goal itself does not require a camera, microphone, capture card, or other physical streaming equipment.
- Check the live scene. Confirm that the browser source is visible, positioned correctly, and not obscured by other overlays. Verify that the displayed count changes when a membership event is received, using the test or event options available in your setup.
See Streamlabs’ Sub Goal setup instructions and its goals widget overview.
Test the goal in a 24/7 stream
A widget working in a short test does not establish that it will keep updating indefinitely. The vendor instructions do not promise 24/7 uptime for a widget or for its behavior across encoder restarts. Before using it on a public continuous broadcast, check it in the actual configuration you plan to run.

- Confirm the goal is visible in the live output, not just in the software preview.
- Check that membership and gifted-membership events update the intended counter.
- Observe what happens to the browser source and displayed count if the encoder or stream reconnects.
- After a planned restart, confirm the goal still loads and shows the expected starting amount and target.
- Keep a way to check the live output periodically; do not assume that a continuous broadcast guarantees the overlay is connected.
Give viewers a direct membership link
You can promote the membership offer separately from the on-screen counter. YouTube says creators can append /join to their channel URL and share that link in stream descriptions and other channel surfaces. For example, add /join to your own channel URL and check the resulting link while signed out or in a separate account before publishing it. The link opens the membership offer; it does not change or advance a goal widget. See YouTube’s membership promotion guidance.
What other overlay options do—and do not—establish
StreamElements documents live pop-up alerts for new YouTube members and browser-source overlays. Its cited “Memberships goal” example updates video descriptions; that is not evidence of a live membership progress bar. If you use StreamElements, distinguish its member alerts from the description-updating goal feature. See StreamElements’ YouTube creator information.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a separate option for keeping an uploaded video live on YouTube from the cloud; it is not a membership-goal widget, and it does not go live from a camera. The membership counter still needs to be configured and displayed through a compatible overlay and streaming setup. StreamNeo’s workflow is to upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The computer and home connection do not have to stay on; uploads stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
