But the figures in the report do not add up: its stated 58 shows at an average of three hours each equal 174 hours, not 177. The 177-hour total should therefore be treated as a reported estimate, not a verified calculation.
What the Melbourne report said
In a February 17, 2024, report published after Swift’s Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) performance, PerthNow counted 53 US shows and five overseas shows, for 58 performances in total. It described the shows as averaging three hours and reported that Swift had accumulated 177 hours onstage. PerthNow’s report does not explain the three-hour difference between its stated total and the calculation from its own figures: 58 × 3 = 174 hours.
Why 447 hours was a projection, not a final total
The same PerthNow article projected 447 hours for the planned 149-show schedule by multiplying 149 dates by three hours per show. That was a forecast made before the tour was complete, not a measured total. It also relied on the same approximate three-hour runtime assumption.
What later reporting establishes about the completed tour
The tour ultimately completed 149 dates worldwide. ABC News describes Swift’s performances as lasting more than three hours each night and says the set included more than 40 songs. The Associated Press later described the concert as about three and a half hours. These are approximate descriptions, not a date-by-date record of time onstage; the cited coverage does not provide an exact cumulative runtime for all 149 shows.
#1 Best Overall
So the best-supported answer depends on the question: after Melbourne, PerthNow reported 177 hours, despite an internal arithmetic mismatch; for the finished tour, the available reporting confirms 149 dates and long performances, but not a precise grand total. Multiplying an approximate nightly duration by the number of dates would create a new estimate, not establish how long Swift was actually onstage.
Melbourne’s record-setting crowd
ABC News reported that 96,000 people attended the MCG performance, which was described at the time as the biggest crowd of Swift’s career. Across her three MCG dates, ABC reported 288,000 concertgoers.
