Season 34 voting is closed. Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premiered on September 16, 2025, and its finale aired on November 25, 2025. The instructions below explain how voting worked during the 2025 season; they are not a way to submit votes now.
How Season 34 viewers voted online
The primary voting method was ABC’s official voting site, dwtsvote.abc.com. Voting was available only during the live episode.
- Open
dwtsvote.abc.comwhen the live broadcast begins. - Sign in with an ABC account, or create one if necessary.
- Verify the email address using the code sent by ABC.
- Select one or more couples and assign up to 10 online votes per couple.
- Click Save Votes. Changes to the allocation were not saved automatically.
You did not have to spread the 10 votes across different couples. For example, all 10 online votes could be assigned to one couple, or they could be divided among several couples, provided the per-couple limit was respected.
How text voting worked
Eligible viewers could also text a contestant’s current SMS keyword to 21523. The keywords were displayed on the official voting page when voting opened and could change from week to week, so an old keyword should not be reused automatically.

Each text counted as one vote, with a maximum of 10 SMS votes per couple. ABC sent a confirmation after the first vote and another notice if the limit was exceeded. Message and data rates could apply, and SMS voting required a participating U.S. wireless carrier.
For the Season 34 finale, the listed keywords were:
| Couple | Finale keyword |
|---|---|
| Jordan Chiles | JORDAN |
| Alix Earle | ALIX |
| Dylan Efron | DYLAN |
| Elaine Hendrix | ELAINE |
| Robert Irwin | ROBERT |
When voting opened and closed
For ordinary live episodes, voting generally opened when the broadcast began at approximately 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central. It closed shortly after the final competitive dance, usually during the last commercial break. The Season 34 finale likewise opened voting at 8 p.m. Eastern and closed during the final commercial break after all finalists had performed.
The deadline was important: viewers could not vote after the live window closed. Votes were not accepted during a next-day Hulu stream, an on-demand replay, or a later broadcast.
The live Disney+ simulcast began at the same time as the viewer’s local ABC broadcast. West Coast viewers could therefore encounter the voting window before seeing the performances locally; the voting schedule was not postponed until the episode aired on the West Coast.
Who could vote?
- Online: Eligible viewers in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada could vote online. Season 34’s finale instructions specified that online voters had to be at least 18 years old.
- By text: SMS voting was available in the United States and Puerto Rico through participating U.S. wireless carriers.
- Canada: Canadian viewers could vote online but could not submit SMS votes.
How many votes could one viewer cast?
Using both methods, a viewer could submit up to 20 votes per couple per episode: 10 online votes and 10 text votes. The limits applied separately to each couple. Online allocations could be changed while voting remained open, but the voter had to select Save Votes for the changes to count.

Common mistakes to avoid
| Mistake | What was correct for Season 34 |
|---|---|
| Waiting until the next episode to vote | Voting ended during the original live episode. |
| Trying to vote on Hulu or a replay | Later streams and on-demand replays did not reopen voting. |
| Texting from Canada | Canada had online voting only; SMS voting was not available. |
| Assuming all 10 online votes had to be split up | Up to 10 online votes could be assigned to one couple. |
| Forgetting to save an online allocation | Clicking Save Votes was required after assigning or changing votes. |
| Using an old keyword or legacy phone number | Season 34 used the current keyword shown on the official voting page and SMS number 21523. |
Season 34 voting in brief
During the 2025 season, the reliable process was to open the ABC voting page as soon as the live show started, check the current contestant keywords, submit online votes, and save the allocation before the final commercial break. Viewers who met the SMS requirements could then text the appropriate keyword to 21523, up to 10 times for that couple. Those instructions applied to the live voting window only; Season 34 is now complete and no new votes can be submitted.
