How did their families take part in the ceremony?
Turner’s and Nist’s children and grandchildren were part of the wedding party. Nist walked down the aisle with her son Tommy, and family members spoke during the ceremony. Susan Noles, who had competed on Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor, officiated. The reception included dancing and a bouquet toss.

What happened after the wedding?
On April 12, 2024, Turner and Nist announced on Good Morning America that they had mutually decided to divorce. Turner said they had talked through their situation, including where they would live, and concluded it was probably time to end the marriage. Nist said they had considered homes in South Carolina and New Jersey but had not decided to move. Both said they still loved one another.
Turner described the decision in the interview with Juju Chang: “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and — and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to — dissolve our marriage.”

Nist also said they hoped the announcement would not take away from the hope viewers had found in their story: “We have received so much love and support from so many people who watched ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope. We want none of that to change for anybody.” Good Morning America published the interview on April 12, 2024.
