What actually happened?
Fubo and The Walt Disney Company announced the proposed combination on January 6, 2025. The deal was intended to create a larger virtual multichannel video programming distributor, or vMVPD—a company that delivers live television over the internet instead of through a traditional cable or satellite subscription.
The announcement was not the closing. Fubo shareholders approved the transaction at a special meeting on September 30, 2025, but regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions still had to be completed. The transaction officially closed on October 29, 2025, according to company and SEC disclosures.

The most accurate description is therefore a corporate combination of Fubo’s existing business with Disney’s Hulu Live business. It is not accurate to say that Hulu + Live TV was discontinued, that Fubo was absorbed into Hulu, or that the two services were immediately replaced by a single app.

What has changed for viewers?
The clearest announced consumer-facing integration so far is the addition of Fubo Sports Network to Hulu + Live TV on February 10, 2026. Fubo described the move as an early synergistic opportunity following the closing. At the time of the announcement, the network was available in Hulu + Live TV’s core plan and added more sports-oriented live and on-demand programming.

That development is meaningful, but it is narrower than a full merger of the products. It does not establish that all Fubo channels are now included with Hulu + Live TV, that Hulu subscribers receive every Fubo feature, or that the two apps are scheduled to become one. Future channel sharing, packaging, pricing, and app changes remain matters to verify when they are formally announced.
Fubo versus Hulu + Live TV: which is different?
The practical choice for a viewer has not disappeared. Although the businesses now sit within the same combined corporate structure, the products still target somewhat different needs.

Before subscribing, compare the channels you actually watch—not just the brand names. Local broadcast availability, regional sports, sports-network packages, cloud DVR rules, simultaneous streams, taxes, and promotional terms can materially change the value of either service. How much do the services cost?
Pricing is volatile, so a price printed in an article should be treated as a dated reference rather than a permanent promise. At the time covered by the supplied current-plan information, Fubo’s consumer page listed Hulu + Live TV as a separate plan at $89.99 per month after a possible three-day trial, subject to eligibility, regional restrictions, and the applicable terms.
Check the service’s checkout page immediately before subscribing. Promotional rates, trial availability, taxes, plan names, channel packages, and cancellation terms can change. How large is the combined business?
Fubo’s closing announcement described the combined operation as having nearly 6 million North American subscribers and as the sixth-largest U.S. pay-TV company. That is useful scale context, but it is not a timeless subscriber count or a guarantee of rank.
The latest dated operating figure in the supplied company reporting was for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. Fubo reported 5.7 million North American subscribers, compared with 5.9 million in the comparable pro forma period, and $1.574 billion in quarterly revenue. How to install Fubo on Roku
- From the Roku home screen, open the search function.
- Search for Fubo.
- Select the Fubo app and choose Add app or the equivalent current installation label.
- Open Fubo after installation.
- Sign in with your Fubo account and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the app does not appear or will not install, confirm that the Roku model is supported, that the device is connected to the internet, that its software is current, and that Fubo is available in your region. Roku is only one access method; it is not a requirement for either service.
What should subscribers expect next?
