It circulated in October 2025, when the films were approaching the holiday theatrical window. The trailer is no longer merely imminent: Disney now lists an official trailer, and its UK press office announced a new trailer in July 2026.
Why fans linked the two films
The theory tied a major Marvel release to a high-profile Disney theatrical event: fans speculated that audiences going to see Avatar: Fire and Ash might also get a first look at Avengers: Doomsday. A New Rockstars video published October 7, 2025 discussed the idea as a rumor. That establishes that the speculation was circulating; it does not establish that Disney planned to attach the trailer to the film.
The available official Disney materials do not confirm that a Doomsday trailer was attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings. Disney’s pages show that both films had promotional materials, but that is not evidence of a theatrical trailer placement.
Is the Avengers: Doomsday trailer still imminent?
No. The “imminent” framing belongs to the 2025 rumor period. Disney’s official film page now lists an official trailer. On July 20, 2026, Disney UK announced that a new trailer and poster were available in a press release.

There was also a separate industry presentation before that announcement: the Associated Press reported that Disney showed theater owners Doomsday footage at CinemaCon on April 16, 2026, with Robert Downey Jr. introducing the trailer. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige described the film as one that “picks up where ‘Endgame’ left off.” The AP account documents the CinemaCon presentation; it does not verify the earlier Avatar attachment rumor.
Release dates depend on territory
Disney lists Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026, in the United States. Disney UK’s July 20, 2026 announcement lists December 16, 2026, for UK cinemas. These are territory-specific dates, not a single worldwide date.
