The reported copy listed $4.5 million for Redmond and $100,000 for Gregory Lawrence Lott, whom reports described as a former boyfriend. Lott later claimed he had been Fawcett’s secret lover; that claim is not independently established by the sources reviewed.
What reports said Fawcett’s will provided
ABC News reported in August 2009 on a copy of Fawcett’s will obtained by RadarOnline. It listed these cash bequests:
| Reported beneficiary | Reported bequest |
|---|---|
| Redmond O’Neal, her son | $4.5 million |
| Gregory Walls, her nephew | $500,000 |
| James Fawcett, her father | $500,000 |
| Gregory Lawrence Lott | $100,000 |
These are amounts reported from the will copy, not a complete accounting of Fawcett’s estate. RadarOnline described its published copy as last updated August 9, 2007. The figures do not establish the estate’s total value or account for property, trusts, or transfers outside the will.
Why Ryan O’Neal was described as receiving nothing
ABC News said O’Neal was not named in the will copy. The Los Angeles Times later reported on trust documents obtained by RadarOnline and likewise said O’Neal received nothing, while describing bequests to Fawcett’s father, nephew, Lott, and the University of Texas. The two accounts concern documents reported by the outlets; they are not a final probate accounting of every asset or transfer.

O’Neal responded that he and Fawcett had discussed what should happen to her finances if she died and had agreed that their son would be the primary beneficiary. UPI reported his statement on November 18, 2009: “These were Farrah’s wishes and I am perfectly happy with them.” The Los Angeles Times reported that O’Neal proposed to Fawcett but they never married.
Was Greg Lott Fawcett’s “actual partner”?
The reported bequest does not establish that Lott was Fawcett’s partner when she died. A 2009 Inside Edition press release said Lott claimed he had been her secret lover for the last eleven years of her life. That is Lott’s characterization of their relationship, not independent confirmation. The available accounts identify him as a former boyfriend and reported beneficiary, but do not verify the “actual partner” label.
