Her description was Savannah’s reaction, not a finding by the court. The resentencing followed a narrow appellate ruling about how losses were attributed to Julie; it did not undo her conviction.
What Savannah said after the hearing
Speaking to reporters after U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross resentenced Julie, Savannah said: “This is 100 percent injustice.” She said the family would appeal and asserted that the prosecution and sentencing were politically motivated. That allegation, like her description of the result as an injustice, was Savannah’s claim—not a conclusion reached by the judge or the appeals court. The Associated Press reported on the hearing.
Why Julie’s sentence went back to the district court
On June 21, 2024, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit upheld the Chrisleys’ convictions but vacated Julie’s sentence. The panel’s concern was that the sentencing calculation included losses from 2006 without identifying evidence that Julie was involved in the conspiracy by that point. It sent the case back for factual findings and calculations supporting loss, restitution, and forfeiture amounts. The court stated: “So we vacate Julie’s sentence and remand for the district court to make factual findings and calculations supporting the loss, restitution, and forfeiture amounts.” The Eleventh Circuit issued its opinion on June 21, 2024.
That was a sentencing issue, not a reversal of Julie’s conviction. The appellate ruling required the district court to address the factual basis for parts of the sentencing calculation; it did not declare Julie innocent or set aside the jury’s verdict.

Why the judge imposed the same 84-month term
At the September 25, 2024 resentencing, Judge Ross imposed the same 84-month sentence—seven years—that Julie had received previously. Contemporary Associated Press coverage said the judge found the original below-guidelines sentence was not based on the disputed loss amount or the number of years involved. On that reasoning, the sentence did not change. The AP’s report on the resentencing describes the decision.
How the loan figure fits—and what it does not explain
The AP reported that the jury found Todd and Julie Chrisley conspired to defraud community banks of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. That figure is background to the case; it is not the specific issue that led the Eleventh Circuit to send Julie’s sentence back. The appellate court focused on the factual support for attributing losses from 2006 to Julie in the sentencing calculation.

The later pardon announcement is a separate development
In May 2025, the Associated Press reported that President Donald Trump announced he would pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley. That announcement came after the September 2024 resentencing and should not be confused with what Judge Ross decided at that hearing. The cited report establishes the announcement; it does not, by itself, establish the details or present legal status of any subsequent implementation. The AP reported the pardon announcement on May 27, 2025.
