ESPN Unlimited is ESPN’s top direct-to-consumer plan. It combines ESPN+ programming with the main ESPN networks, ESPN on ABC events, SEC Network+, ACCNX and, according to ESPN’s current plan information, NFL Network. The standalone price listed by ESPN is $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year.
It is not the same as ESPN Select (the successor to ESPN+). Unlimited suits viewers who regularly need ESPN, ESPN2, college conference networks and other ESPN-exclusive broadcasts without a traditional pay-TV package. It is a poor substitute for a full live-TV service if you also need FOX, CBS, NBC, regional sports networks or local channels.
What is ESPN Unlimited?
ESPN Unlimited launched on August 21, 2025, as ESPN’s full streaming subscription tier. ESPN describes it as access to its broad direct-to-consumer lineup through ESPN.com and the ESPN App. The plan includes the ESPN+ content base plus the principal ESPN networks and related services.
ESPN’s current plan information lists ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN Deportes, ESPNEWS, ESPN on ABC, ESPN3, SEC Network+, ACCNX and NFL Network. Older launch descriptions did not mention NFL Network, so that inclusion should be understood as based on ESPN’s newer plan information and may differ for provider-distributed entitlements.

ESPN Unlimited does not provide every sports channel or every event available in the United States. Rights, blackouts, local-market rules and device or provider restrictions still apply.

Who should buy ESPN Unlimited?
Good candidates
- Fans who need ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network and ESPN+ together.
- College football and basketball viewers who regularly follow SEC or ACC broadcasts.
- Viewers of ESPN-exclusive NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, UFC, WWE, tennis, golf or soccer events.
- Cord-cutters who do not need a broad non-ESPN channel lineup.
- Existing Select/ESPN+ subscribers who repeatedly encounter games locked to a main ESPN network.
- Households that already use Disney+ and Hulu and would use the included services.
When another option is better
- Choose Select if ESPN+ content is enough and you do not need the main ESPN channels.
- Choose a live-TV provider if you need FOX, CBS, NBC, regional sports networks, local channels or one traditional program guide.
- Check your provider first if you already have Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV, Fubo, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse or Cox; your package may include an ESPN entitlement.
- Skip a standalone plan if you watch only occasional ESPN events that can be accessed through a current provider or short-term offer.
How to subscribe directly
- Open ESPN’s official subscription page.
- Select ESPN Unlimited.
- Choose monthly or annual billing if both are offered at checkout.
- Sign in with a MyDisney/ESPN account or create one.
- Enter payment details and review renewal, tax and cancellation terms.
- Open ESPN.com or the ESPN App and sign in with the same account.
- Test a channel or event that requires Unlimited.
Button labels and bundle paths can change, so rely on the live checkout screen rather than an older screenshot or guide.
How to activate it through a TV provider
ESPN lists Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV, Fubo, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse and Cox among provider routes. YouTube TV and Comcast Xfinity also appear in ESPN’s support navigation, but the exact package entitlement and rollout can vary.

- Link an existing MyDisney/ESPN account or create one when prompted.
- Open the ESPN App and sign in with the linked account.

Provider activation links include Spectrum, Fubo and DIRECTV. General assistance is available through ESPN Support. Changing or canceling the qualifying provider plan can end the associated ESPN access under that provider’s terms.
If the entitlement does not appear
- Sign out of ESPN and check which email address is being used.
- Verify with the provider that your exact package includes Unlimited.
- Reopen the provider activation page and link the correct MyDisney account.
- Sign back into ESPN and test again.
- Contact the provider first when the entitlement is part of the TV package.
Supported devices and simultaneous streams
ESPN says subscriptions support up to three simultaneous devices for most content, including live events and on-demand shows. Supported examples include Android phones, tablets and TVs; Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets; Apple TV, iPhone and iPad; Chromecast; LG Smart TVs; and Cox Contour devices. Compatibility depends on the model and operating-system version, so consult ESPN’s current device information and keep the app updated.
Subscriptions are intended for use within the subscriber’s household, which ESPN defines around devices associated with the primary personal residence. Sharing outside that household may violate the service terms.
What the enhanced ESPN App adds
- SportsCenter For You: Personalized highlights and news, described by ESPN as a beta feature using AI technology and ESPN storytellers.
- ESPN Verts: Personalized vertical short-form video on mobile.
- StreamCenter: A connected-TV stream paired with mobile stats, alerts, Gamecast, fantasy information and ESPN BET information.
- Multiview: Up to four games simultaneously on supported connected-TV devices.
- Catch Up To Live: Key-play highlights before joining selected games already in progress.
- Commerce by Fanatics: Merchandise discovery and mobile purchasing through QR codes.
- ESPN on Disney+: Bundle subscribers can access ESPN content inside Disney+.
Availability varies by device, event, account and geography. Betting and commerce features may have age, regulatory and location restrictions. ESPN says many app improvements are also available to fans who authenticate through traditional pay-TV packages. Read ESPN’s feature description.

What “all of ESPN” does not include
- It is not every U.S. sports event or every game from every league.
- It does not automatically include FOX, FS1, FS2, CBS Sports, NBC, TNT Sports or regional sports networks.
- ESPN on ABC events do not equal access to a local ABC station or the entire ABC schedule.
- Local, regional and league blackouts can still apply.
- Live events and studio programs include advertising; Unlimited is not an ad-free live-sports product.
- Some events may require a separate league package or another service because ESPN does not hold the rights.
A game can remain unavailable even with the correct plan because of a blackout, regional right, non-ESPN network, provider restriction, location issue or replay-window timing. Location-masking software can also interfere with access.
Cancellation and switching plans
- You can cancel at any time, but access generally continues through the end of the current billing cycle.
- ESPN’s FAQ says it does not refund or credit partially used billing periods.
- Canceling the subscription does not delete the ESPN account.
- Switching from Select to Unlimited takes effect immediately, with a prorated first-period charge.
- Switching from Unlimited to Select takes effect on the next billing date.
- After an annual plan has been charged, ESPN says you cannot immediately switch that same plan to monthly billing.
These are ESPN’s stated policies; review the current account page before changing a subscription.
Bottom-line buying guide
Choose ESPN Unlimited when ESPN’s network channels and ESPN+ content are both central to your viewing. Choose ESPN Select when you mainly want ESPN+ programming at the lower price. Check an existing TV provider before subscribing, and choose a broader live-TV service when your must-have channels extend beyond ESPN’s rights. No option removes blackouts or turns live sports into an ad-free, universal sports pass.
