Drake’s strongest album is Take Care. It balances vulnerable rap-singing, memorable songwriting and a cohesive mood better than the rest of his catalog. This ranking covers his solo full-length album projects through 2026; the three albums released together in May 2026 are included, but their positions are provisional because the critical evidence available for them is still limited.

What counts as a Drake album here?

“Every album” can mean different things in Drake’s catalog. This ranking covers solo full-length album projects, not every release marketed as an album. It excludes mixtapes, playlist projects, compilations, EPs and collaborative albums. That means So Far Gone, More Life, Her Loss and 2025’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, made with PARTYNEXTDOOR, are outside the main list. Expanded or deluxe editions are treated as versions of their original album, not separate entries: For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition, for example, does not get a second ranking.

There is no single universal catalog taxonomy: services and databases sort mixtapes, collaborations and expanded releases differently. Apple Music separates albums from singles and EPs, while MusicBrainz uses several release-group categories. The ranking below is an editorial judgment, not an objective consensus. It weighs writing and performance, cohesion, production, standout songs, replay value and what each project adds to Drake’s catalog. The May 15, 2026 releases—HABIBTI, ICEMAN and MAID OF HONOUR—are included as three separate LPs.

Drake’s solo albums, ranked

  1. 11. HABIBTI (2026)

The lowest placement is the least settled one. The available reviews point to an album with moody R&B melodies, but disagree sharply about the writing: Pitchfork rated it 65/100 and criticized its lack of evocative detail, while The Guardian rated it 40/100 and heard familiar musical and lyrical patterns. Those are two publications’ judgments, not a definitive verdict. With limited critical evidence and the album only newly released, this spot is provisional; it reflects the concerns visible in those reviews rather than a settled view of its longevity.

    #1 Best Overall
    Take Care[2 LP]
    • Take Care is the 8x platinum-certified sophomore album from Drake
  2. 10. MAID OF HONOUR (2026)

There is not yet enough established critical evidence to make a confident case for this album over the rest of Drake’s catalog. Its low, provisional position is a placement in an early ranking, not a claim that its songs have been shown to be weaker. It may move substantially as listeners and critics have more time with it.

  3. 9. ICEMAN (2026)

Like the other two 2026 LPs, ICEMAN arrived on May 15, so its place near the bottom is necessarily tentative. A long-running catalog offers a difficult comparison for a release with little established critical response: replay value and durability cannot yet be judged fairly. This ranking includes it rather than pretending a 2026 list ends with the previous album, but its position should be read as an initial placeholder, not a lasting assessment.

    Rank #2
If You're Reading This It's Too Late[2 LP]
    • If You're Reading This It's Too Late is the fourth mixtape from Drake
  4. 8. Thank Me Later (2010)

Drake’s debut studio album established the rap-and-singing balance that would become central to his catalog. Its appeal lies in that early combination of confidence and openness; the limitation, in retrospect, is that the sound and identity are less fully integrated than on the albums that followed. It earns a place above the provisional 2026 entries because its role in the catalog is clearer, but it feels more like a promising arrival than a complete artistic statement.

  5. 7. Scorpion (2018)

Scorpion has the scope of a double album, moving between rap and R&B, and that breadth gives it a substantial range of moods. The trade-off is cohesion: its length makes the strongest moments compete with stretches that do less to advance the listening experience. It ranks above Thank Me Later for its fuller command of Drake’s two musical modes, but below the more focused albums that follow.

    Rank #3
    $ome $exy $ongs 4 U
    • Released: 05/09/2025
    • Format: Vinyl
  6. 6. For All the Dogs (2023)

This album belongs in the main list as the original solo project; its expanded Scary Hours edition is not a separate album entry. The record draws on both sides of Drake’s familiar approach—rap-focused tracks and melodic, relationship-centered songs—but does not sustain one mood as consistently as his best work. It sits above Scorpion for a more manageable album experience, though it lacks the latter’s broader sweep.

  7. 5. Honestly, Nevermind (2022)

One of Drake’s clearest stylistic departures, Honestly, Nevermind commits to dance-oriented production rather than treating it as a brief detour. That focus gives the album a more unified feel than some of his longer, more varied projects. Its place in the middle reflects a trade-off: the ambition and cohesion stand out, but the shift away from his usual rap-and-R&B balance makes it a less complete showcase of his strengths than the albums above it.

    Rank #4
    Views [2 LP]
    • Views is the 8x platinum-certified fourth studio album from Drake
  8. 4. Certified Lover Boy (2021)

Certified Lover Boy is strongest when Drake leans into the vocal ease and romantic tension that suit his melodic writing. Its familiar territory is also its limitation: the album revisits established modes rather than reshaping them, and its length softens the overall arc. It edges out Honestly, Nevermind for the closer fit between its material and Drake’s signature style, though it takes fewer risks.

  9. 3. Views (2016)

Views makes atmosphere part of its identity. Its sustained, nocturnal mood gives the album a sense of place and makes the strongest songs feel connected, even when the pacing can seem deliberate. It ranks ahead of Certified Lover Boy because its production and sequencing create a more distinctive album world; it falls short of the top two because that mood does not make every stretch equally compelling.

What A Time To Be Alive [LP]
    • What a Time to Be Alive is a collaborative mixtape between Drake and Future
  10. 2. Nothing Was the Same (2013)

Nothing Was the Same is a cleaner, more controlled statement than the albums around it. Its blend of self-assurance and introspection feels especially well matched to the production, and the album’s tighter focus gives its best writing room to land. It narrowly misses the top spot: Take Care has a more affecting emotional range, while this album is the more streamlined listen.

  11. 1. Take Care (2011)

Take Care is Drake’s best album because its vulnerability feels like the organizing principle, not just one mode among several. The rap-singing, introspective writing and atmospheric production reinforce one another, giving the record a recognizable emotional throughline. Apple Music’s editorial description calls it “vulnerably rap-singing his way into cultural ubiquity” and names it No. 47 on its 100 Best Albums list—an editorial ranking, not a measure of universal agreement. Against Nothing Was the Same, its advantage is emotional breadth; against the rest of Drake’s catalog, it remains the most coherent meeting of voice, mood and songwriting.
